I read in a post show article that it was a ship’s chain. I didn’t pay attention when I watched it, and agree right that the Night King planned it. I really think Bran is the NK. I have evidence but it would be too long and the nega-GoTs would get pissed.

They did not have to swim, just drop straight to the bottom and hook on the ship chains They brought from Hardhomme. They are just slave puppets to the NKs mind.

But it's just the wights that can't swim right? Never showed that the White Walkers or the Night King himself couldn't swim I think.

Basicly a lot of legal mumbo jumbo saying there are a lot of different contracts with the school, endorsements, etc. that has to get worked out. Even something from the NCAA could cause a delay.
