Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIX

Don't kick me out. I am still full Grude. But, I am starting to lose faith in Beaver. The childish tweets at Currie, the constant changing of the twitter profile pics, and the continual lurking on the thread are not raising my confidence level in his connections. Seems childish/trollish

I hope I am wrong.

Soon.

I would look from the perspective of 'strategy' as opposed to meeting social norms.

I'm not a millenial by the way, but I get really tired of older generations beating up on younger ones because they want equality and transparency. This world isn't run by the good ole boys club anymore and I know that scares a lot of people like you.

Think about it for a minute, guys and gals.

At the end of last year, Butch was allegedly looking to get out of Knoxville. After the ****ty season he had this year, now he's "begging for more"? Doesn't add up to me. Sounds like another smokescreen.

Grude On!

If Mays had been told Gruden or some other home run hire was on the hook he would have waited it out. The fact he left leads me to believe we are not where we think we are.

Grudometer at 5% and dropping.

Do you really think he would have been told Gruden was the next man up with us having a coach? Don't you think that would be hard to keep quiet. I don't get all this gloom and doom. I guess that's what happens when things are quiet. I read nothing in to this. I'm still Gruden all the way!!!

Of course. Blame someone else.

Blame someone else? It's hard to depict someone's intent in text on a message board so let me preface by saying I'm not being an ass hat when saying this but some sociology would help out with a many people who call out the snowflakes and millenials as being something different than we've seen before. Sociology teaches us that as a statistical percentage as the old saying goes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...upbringing and what you're around and influenced by as an adolescent is the direction a person tends to go as they reach adulthood. So to not put much of the blame for the mindset of one generation on one before it is against everything that we know.

Brent Hubbs has confirmed that butch is calling around and asking for support from boosters. Saying injuries has not allowed this team to show its full potential.

I want to throw up. If butch was gone already why would Hubbs be confirming that butch is asking for one more year? I think he realizes he can’t get another P5 job.

Smokescreen!

I actually think the Beav's job is basically done...whatever it was. There's so much smoke now that if you remove Beav from the equation we're ok.

Good things coming, I'm all in.

I just feel like he has his own agenda. He's getting something out of this and I don't think it's just the joy of being able to break the news about Gruden. Makes me wary about The Beav

I get that and like I said, I'm not giving you a GTFO, because you at least presented something that wasn't carried by a temper tantrum. Don't know if he is a troll or not, but I am not as skeptical as I was when he first appeared here.

It's not whether you are pro or anti Gruden... it's whether or not you think he will be the next coach at Tennessee.

SOON:
-Beaver
-Atlanta_Vol
-DTO
-Volfan30
-Hutch
-Swain

Entertain the idea:
-LWSVol
-JAV
-Price
-Hubbs

Not happening:
-Hyams
-Ainge
-Deerpark

Was going to say to add Danny Parker to 100% not happening group. Hes been there since day 1. VERY adamant. Well he stepped off the 100% no go today when asked. Put into entertain category maybe.

I'm NOT a troll. I've been here on VolNation for a Decade, i LOVE my vols, i have 3 students there now (2 just about to Graduate) -- but thank you for your remarks.

I didn't read the 315 pages of threads, i'm a working man and i guess perhaps maybe i just should have stayed completely away. HAHA

I just heard my kids being hopeful about Gruden and I don't want them to be heartbroken. again. for the 10th time as Vols. :(

If they have been watching this year they should be used to heartbreak.

If you think this is linear and non complex then I would guess you are wrong. This is a non linear battlefield. Everything from this point on is a feint to disguise everyone's movement . IMO

But... but... but...

In calculus, curved surfaces are evaluated by using infinitesimal, infinite iterations/summations with straight lines.

Sorry, the nerd could no longer be restrained. :)

Yes, I agree. This situation could likely be more dynamic than it currently appears. Occam's Razor is one thing, ousting a booster and/or forcing a realignment is a totally different story altogether.

Grude On!

Keep in mind he was reportedly turned down by schools that he reached out to.

He may feel staying at UT is his best chance at coaching in the P5 next year.
