At the end of last year, Butch was allegedly looking to get out of Knoxville. After the ****ty season he had this year, now he's "begging for more"? Doesn't add up to me. Sounds like another smokescreen.

It's hard to depict someone's intent in text on a message board so let me preface by saying I'm not being an ass hat when saying this but some sociology would help out with a many people who call out the snowflakes and millenials as being something different than we've seen before. Sociology teaches us that as a statistical percentage as the old saying goes the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...upbringing and what you're around and influenced by as an adolescent is the direction a person tends to go as they reach adulthood. So to not put much of the blame for the mindset of one generation on one before it is against everything that we know.

Brent Hubbs has confirmed that butch is calling around and asking for support from boosters. Saying injuries has not allowed this team to show its full potential.

I want to throw up. If butch was gone already why would Hubbs be confirming that butch is asking for one more year? I think he realizes he can’t get another P5 job.

Yes, I agree. This situation could likely be more dynamic than it currently appears. Occam's Razor is one thing, ousting a booster and/or forcing a realignment is a totally different story altogether.

Keep in mind he was reportedly turned down by schools that he reached out to.

He may feel staying at UT is his best chance at coaching in the P5 next year.
