If DeerPark used to be a vendor (adidas rep), his old connections will only have office banter and speculation. He may have been valid in the past, but this is a new AD and he has a new circle. Old lines of info have been cut off for the most part.

We have examined this in many different ways, except for probably the most important way. We need to look at this as a wrasslin’ program.

1. Butch is clearly a heel. The turn began after the Florida game, and he is now full heel.
2. The Grude is our Hogan, and everyone knows that Hogan must pose.
3. The cream will rise to the top, and Gruden is the cream.
4. If Haslam or anyone else tries to run in last minute, they are getting a chair to head.

Now, for the formal introduction, we need to get the rights for the NWO theme and procure the services of Scott Hall for an hour. Stay with me here.

Butch comes out for the Monday press conference, starts his normal diatribe, cue the NWO tv disruption montage and hit the music. Enter Scott Hall. He walks up to Butch and gives him a toothpick to the face then grabs the mic. “Hey yo. It wouldn’t be a UT football press conference without a survey. So everyone in Knoxville came to see Butch Jones.... *insert cricket sounds*. Alright, that means everyone in Knoxville came to see the new head coach, Jon Gruden.... *pandaminium reigns*. I just want to say Gruden is just too sweet.” Que Gruden walking out in full Ric Flair robe to “2001 A Space Odyssey” theme. Gives Butch a few knife edge chops and then slaps him in a figure four. Butch taps, thus giving UT a new head coach,

This legion of miserables would turn on reincarnated General Neyland if he didn't reach Atlanta by season 2. That's why I have no desire for Manning to ever be in any sort of way a coach here.

Fine, have a discussion. But this is what every coach of any major program, NFL or college, will go through. If it is that big of a concern, he wouldn't coach.

I think the Gruden family is up to the challenge.

One story. Blind squirrel. They know nothing and throw sh** at the wall and pray it sticks. If Gruden does come, they’ll be the first to pat themselves on the back when they have no clue if he’s coming or not.

I have been following this board for the last month and did in 2012 as well. No insider, don't know anyone on the hill but I have spent the last three hours on a flight reading thru the thread and this is the best entertainment. Another two hour flight to go so keep it up and give me something to read. I guess I should end with

On a side note the team i coach, York Rec Vols lost tonight in the semi finals. 25-21 against the Deacons who have a kid that Lane Kiffen would offer a full ride to. He is 10yo BTW.

Tough loss. Kid's played hard. I got emotional seeing the kids off. You get attached like they are your own kids.

Need some Grude news soon to get things going positive.

Off the Gruden topic but I though I’d share my Yorktown story. Took my mother in law to see it several years back. Her dad had left her and her mother when she was little just before the war, so her mom took the family to Baltimore and went to work for Eastern Aircraft where she was a real life Rosie the Riveter, working on tail sections. MIL said she used to play jacks with rivets. Did my homework before we got there and was able to show her an Avenger and tell her that the Avenger was only made in a couple of plants, one of them being Eastern and that her mother (by now long since tragically passed) could have very well put the rivets in the tail of that plane. As the tears welled up in her eyes she stared beaming with pride, and then my tears started. Great experience. There will never be another generation like that.
