My new theory for why butch hasn’t been fired is Phillip Fulmer. He is in Currie’s ear. He didn’t like the way he was fired. He thinks Tennessee didn’t get a big name coach after Dooley was fired because how the Dooley firing was handled. LSU fired Miles early in the season and they didn’t land a big fish either.

I don’t agree with this but I can’t think of any reason whatsoever to keep trotting Butch out...

Well I will inadvertently help with the #emptyNeyland movement since I will be camping Thursday-Sunday out of cell range. In past years on a game weekend I would have cared. Now its more of a "tell me who won" thing.

Just in awe of no word from AD. The fan-base is about to implode. Prominent media members saying he is out yesterday afternoon, media put on standby for an announcement from the AD then nothing AND then they just trot Jones out there like its any other week.

Saturday will be ugly. I guess I will DVR it just to see the attendance and how crazy it gets. I hate it for the athletes that put their future and ultimately lives on the line every week for UT and the fans that it has come to this. Without some sort of statement from the AD i cannot even start to imagine what Saturday is going to look like.

I don't think "All" the insiders are FOS... Some definitely are, but the ones I've been listening to have never given a date Butch would be fired.

The ones I listen to the most are MIT, Boro, DTO and AV. None of those 4 ever suggested that today would be the day. MIT said he would be surprised if Butch is still the coach on Tuesday, but made it clear that he had no information regarding a timeline. That was his own speculation.

It sucks Butch is still here, but to suggest all the insiders are FOS because he won't be fired today is an overreaction IMO. If anyone claimed to have inside information that he would be fired today, it's safe to assume that specific person is/was FOS.

Again, for the impaired: I simply provided info that his buyout was finalized last week and “Kentucky is his last game.”

My speculation was he’s out Sunday or Monday. My personal opinion based on the confirmation that his buyout was complete.

I brought info that I was told Butch's "last game" was Kentucky and his buyout numbers were agreed upon. By him and the University and most importantly, Legal.

Never was given a certain day. But, knowing that and putting the pieces together, I said Sunday or Monday. Me.

Could care less about semantics or technicalities if he's fired on Tuesday or an hour before kickoff of the USM game. Im a fan too so obviously I just want this debacle to be done with so we can move to the next phase!

I bolded the important part. DocVol made it clear he was stating his opinion, and not bringing info that said a particular day.
