It's all about who flinches first, Currie doesn't want to pay the buyout and Butch wants to go but wants his 8 mil. I think that's why he grinned and said its day to day with his future

You mean all the “insiders” that were guessing today would be good were wrong? What a shocker. I can’t believe it, especially after what Gruden said in that interview. I mean, he basically said he’ll be the coach at Tenn for the next 20 years.

Terrible coaches calling terrible play that could get players hurt while we wait. Losing Team in locker room. Relieve the tension for the fans. Probably a bunch more reasons, but...

But mainly:: to show recruits this isn't what they are coming too. Or recruits have been dropping around the rate of 1 a day it seems like lately. I completely understand why also.

It was a little choppy, but I think that fan effect is lost at about two to two and a half feet.

Whoever sets up for the presser knows what they're doing. That's why I have faith in the administration.

Everyone can listen to the rumors and analyze Lyle's words and mannerisms until the cows come home. Fact is he's still here.

I don't know what the hell is going on right now and I'm really starting to question if anything actually is happening. All I know for sure is my days of moving my line of belief are over.

Butch knows this will be his final game. He slipped up and made reference to S. Miss being "the final game"
Dodged all questions on discussions with Currie. No substantive answer.
Looks deflated. Thought he handled himself well, but he knows he's done.

Haslam is the booster everyone knows along with Thorton, so they get the most credit/blame for almost everything. I don't have inside AD deep sources.

I've made friends with a lot of people over the years though via access to the club level/boxes. One of those people worked for Haslam. That friend was one of the people providing Gruden with needed services, as directed by Haslam, during the 2012 search.

That friend told me recently that the boosters were pretty well unified for one candidate for this search, but didn't name names. That friend said that beyond the one name, the boosters were divided on other candidates.
