Thought the same.

But, how’s his job status up there?

He’s fine for at least one more year. They’re probably looking at 2-10 this season, but it’s not look he took over a program that had been rolling. Even if something happened, I don’t see him becoming a college assistant.

You academics are so greedy. Bama had a $600M fundraise just for the academic side and they contribute that success to the football program. They have raised tuitions due to demand and attracted more out of state students to the tune of an extra $80M because off football.

So WHY when they are getting those MASSIVE benefits do they need another handout from the athletics side? Why do we need to do that? Just so the academics side can have more? Why would the massive benefits they would receive not be enough? Maybe the athletic program can use that money for more scholarships for women's soccer and softball, maybe remodel the baseball stadium, yanno build up other successful programs that would in turn bring more attention and thus more money to the university.

Academics always want more, more, more. Pisses me off.

I think you are mislabeling VFLnSFD. She has tried to explain this to you twice now. Schools do need modern equipment and technology to educate and train the students for their careers. There is a healthy balance between the two, it doesn't need to be one sided.

Imagine the plane tracking though.

As the fire Butch Jones watch crowd continues to swell following a fourth straight loss by Tennessee Saturday, a new report suggests the university has not been idle on this front. According to Oliver Connolly of The Read Optional, the Vols*have “offered over $10 million a year to Jon Gruden.”

Gruden likely has little interest in going back down to the college ranks. He’s been linked to numerous NFL head coaching vacancies in the past few years but has shot down those rumors in the past. It seems highly unlikely he’d head back to the place where he started as a graduate assistant, way back in 1986.

I feel the excitement but can't pinpoint what exactly was said that stirred it up... what happened other than rumor of team meeting? Or was that it?

I expect it with 48 hours. Nothing really inside, just a hunch.

At this point you could be right not sure. I just think he has too many irons in the fire that need to be resolved and can't be with a stroke of the pen. Those obligations take time and much talk. I would imagine the man has obligatory contracts all over the country that need to be dealt with. But they will be.....Soon!
