Official Jon Gruden Thread XXIV

At least Florida’s list of current top options is hardly what I would call intimidating. However, their administration actually has an iota of testicular fortitude unlike ours.

I don't. They've known since before Currie was hired that this position would come open at the end of the season. They aren't just now thinking about it.

SFD, do you think this all hinges around the BOT meeting which someone said is scheduled for this Tuesday?

BOT has to approve all personnel maneuvers such as the one we are all waiting for.

And if we are in negotiations with JG and the control issues are on the table as conditions for employment, the BOT has to formally approve those type of changes.

Bylaw changes and such?

Florida has made the move.

We better hope we have Gruden, cause they are absolutely a better job than us. Unless they screw up, they WILL have a better coach.

I’ve been an optimistic hopeful from the first thread, catching up multiple times a day, is anyone else concerned that none of the “insiders” have been around yet today?

Atlanta Vol is the only person I feel comfortable calling an "insider." Heres what he said on Friday at 9:26:
From my perspective I put my odds at JG coming at 65-70%. I don’t think it is a done deal per se like MIT does....but i could certainly be wrong...I Had multiple smoke screens thrown my way throughout the week. Earlier in the week i was 50/50 but man there is so much pointing to this thing getting done and the right people to get it done being involved that I feel like it will be a total collapse on our side if it falls through. So I am hopeful...and let me also be clear. In the event i got word that this deal was 100% done before it was announced I would never give that out in this forum...not my place to do that and certainly there are some things you just let play out....and I have a role with this university that I don’t want to jeapordize So enjoy the ride..

In regards to butch...that ship sailed...I didn’t however hear anything in regards to this timing i have been seeing after the KY game. I also haven’t really asked that question though. My focus and attention has been ensuring the program know where i stand on the current situation and also trying to help keep some of these recruits at bay while the ship is falling apart if that makes sense.

So AV says Butch's ship has sailed. If you need Insider Comfort, I suggest you roll with that.

Grude Afternoon, Everyone!

Is it safe to enter now??? Was really tense in here this morning and understandably so but I still have faith...

SOON

Percentage still the same as before..

:shades::shades:

The only logical reason for allowing Butch to coach next Saturday is the BOT meeting this week. Because UT is risking a lot of empty seats at Homecoming and a rain of Boos when Butch runs out.

So is this "misinformation" or are you smiling because it's accurate? Or laughing at the people in this thread?

Still holding strong that Gruden is 100% done?

Very much holding strong on 100% done on Gruden. This place is volatile after the really tough loss which is why most insiders are not coming around (people will accuse them or go off of the deep end).

UT can’t afford what happens if they reject the Gruden deal. They like to build too many new buildings and construction projects to afford to piss off the people who put this thing together. Also, this time is very very different from 2012 between the players involved and Gruden’s situation.

Funny how all the gator sympathizers are trying to persuade UT to keep Butch a little while longer...

Meanwhile their beloved swamp turns into a dumpster fire, and may become an EPA superfund site before this is over.

:) your damned self! It's very suspicious that media reports came out last night with details about McElwain down to who would be interim; however, we get smiley faces on VN.

Goes back to what I posted earlier, I really am starting to think they're not going to fire him any time soon and he may be back next year

He's been on the hot a lot longer than Mac, and in less than 24 hours the first report came out about UF looking to fire him, he's gone

You can't tell me that if Currie has told Jones he's done or is going to fire him then we wouldn't be seeing the same type of articles about Jones that we saw about Mac
