I'm pretty much here too. Scratching my head because the messaging that is going to the media is not what I've heard from two who actually know. I have to go with the people I know, but it's a bad look from the AD as far as public perception.

Scratch that, it's a TERRIBLE look.

If someone has been contacted who is currently coaching we would have known about it. The school from where the coach is coming would not be obligated to keep it secret. Makes me think the next coach is not currently actively coaching.

I mentioned last night that a nightmare scenario would be one side or another calling boosters hand, said boosters walking with their money, and everyone suffers. No money for academics OR football.

Not saying it's likely to happen, just pointing out the high stakes.

Is this other 10% a threat?

My 6 year old daughter recently had an extremely loose tooth. She couldn’t eat apples, brushing her teeth hurt and it always bled. It was barely hanging on. She kept crying that it hurt and when she’d wiggle it, it hurt worse. I told her it’s barely there and if she just pulled really hard, it’s come out and wouldn’t bother her anymore. She’d deal with it and then something would irritate it and she’d come running to me for help. My advice was the same: yank it out. She was laying in bed 3 nights ago and I heard her yelp in pain and I ran to her room to see what was wrong. She was standing there, holding a bloody tooth, smiling from ear to ear and immediately begin asking me how much she gets from the tooth fairy. The long term nuesance finally annoyed her to the point she was ready to deal with the momentary pain. She also got $10 that night. I wanted her to realize that dealing with pain hurts but it has its reward.

Currie, yank the tooth.

After last night's posts, I have come to the conclusion that MIT does not just play golf and roam in the circles of the big dogs. He IS one of the big dogs that loves his Vols. I think he's a tiny bit biased with a slight case of homerism. However, I'm still confident with his predictions. I think hawk got some info from AV.

I've been slow to jump all in on the Gruden train but am now at 90%. I'm with Boro on the wait it out and see and have patience. A deal like what was discussed last night must have tons and tons of legal paperwork and kinks to sort out and work thru.

Off topic but was going through and cleaning out clothes I will never wear again yesterday to donate to KARM and came across all the teeth my son has lost including his first one. He is far past the tooth fairy and thought it was cool to see them and how small his first tooth was.

Also found a note from my 23 year old daughter in a bag with her teeth that said "Dear Tooth Fairy, I accidentally swallowed my tooth eating a chicken sandwich at school so will you check my mouth and leave me money anyway?" I texted that to her as well.

And her standard was $5 and my 13 year olds standard is $10 so yes, inflation lol. The struggle is real.

THIS!!!! Let's all consider the timing of yesterday afternoon:
-news breaks that Butch is mtg with admin to discuss future.
-press is notified to be on alert as the coach's meeting begins, along with a rumored team mtg later.
-Suddenly, "nothing to see here, folks." And team mtg cancelled.
-MIT says that Currie is looking at BANTA, but to my knowledge doesn't specify which agreement he is talking about.

To me this clearly indicates that he is trying to figure out who will lead a team without a willing leader.

I dont see anyway in the world that Gruden shows up at homecoming. That is, of course, he has been named the Head Coach this week. Showing up otherwise would be a bad idea.

I don't think the staff deserves it either IMO. They have failed to get the job done, but I don't think they deserve what is coming from the fans on Saturday.

What part of MIT's comment doesn't make sense with my theory? Truly asking, not being argumentative.

As I understand your theory, the Gruden deal is all but agreed to, and is pending Butch's formal public departure. That departure has hit a roadblock due to questions over an interim coach.

I took MIT's statement as "Currie is considering an ALTERNATIVE TO GRUDEN."

I could be wrong. MIT wasn't super specific beyond what I've already said. But if I read everyone right, that's a huge difference from your theory. Did I understand your theory correctly?

You can’t contact an active coach during the season. That’s what agents are for. And the good agents who want to keep working don’t blab. Currie showed during the baseball coaching search that leaks don’t happen on his end. There’s no “would have known” to be had.
