His name is constantly connected with the UT coaching job on the Finebaum show and I;m sure others( yeah, I know I shouldn't watch, but like this thread, it's entertaining).

Would be easy to defuse the rumors.

Honest question: when people hear nfl scouts & analysts explain why they don’t think he would suceed in college: doesn’t develop/recognize talent, teach fundamentals, have patience with players, etc etc... does that not concern you regarding his ability? (I’m not against the hire but would have concerns.)

That’s just it. It hasn’t even been brought up at all. Which is odd to me. Usually when rumors are flying like this, a potential candidate is quick is dispel the rumors. Settle the waters. But Gruden seems like he isn’t even aware his name is being mentioned. That’s the hardest part of all this to believe. That a man as prominent in Knoxville as Gruden is....suddenly is completely unaware he is the Vegas odds #1 guy to take this job in a few weeks...and he just pretends it’s not a thing at all. And no vulture of a reporter seems to want to write a story with his denial of it.

Maybe it’s nothing. But maybe it’s something. Who knows either way.

He didn't comment is 2012 either. Regardless of what happens with UT, Gruden has always liked to be "courted".
