Although I have a hard time thinking Butch could be fired after winning, ultimate boomage for today would be:

1) We win today
2) Butch gets fired just for sucking
3) Gruden announced as head coach

October 28th 2017 would go down as one of the greatest in volnation history.

A man can dream.

GV should have had his morning update posted by now. Slacker.

Morning everyone else. Happy Gameday. Go Vols!

You my girl, Volly. But I'm not dragging my ass outa bed at 5:45 AM to update, Gruden or not.

Plus, lots of posts from last night to sift through.

It not happening after the SC loss should tell you that Currie doesn't care about timing as far as performance after the UGA game. If the other stuff is lined up like he wants I don't think a win or loss will matter against Kentucky. It's unprecedented to fire a coach after a division win, but I don't think Currie cares about that.

Agree completely. Unlike BCarter, most of us think Currie has his man & after last night's drama, it seems the delay hasn't ab $ terms, but rather timing of announcement. At least that's my take from all of it. I think Gruden wants to get going on staff interviews, recruiting etc. I think (& I hope) Butch gone after this game, win or lose.

It's not about rewarding him for a win over Kentucky it's about timing when making a personnel change. I feel like the week after he SC loss was a wasted opportunity to pull the trigger. I know many will say Gruden is a done deal but I am not at all in that camp regardless of betting odds and anonymous posts. The timing of a firing directly affects your perception in the eyes of a potential replacement. I think it will happen after any loss except LSU or at the end of the season personally.

This is where you and I may disagree a little, if he wins at Kentucky and suffers a loss against LSU I thought he would be fired after LSU.... what is your reasoning ... mine is simply that any more loses against an SEC team brings him to a 5 loss SEC record and makes him with a winning record below 500 in the conference... I figured that is enough to lose his job... what's your thoughts?

You know, BC, I get where you are coming from. But it is a delicate balance. The AD also needs to be considering how toxic Butch has become to the fan base. If he is on that sideline for the next home game, and the offense continues to look like a junior high offense, then Neyland will get ugly.

What I hope happens. If we somehow beat Ky (which I do not see happening by the way), Currie should agree that Butch can resign so he can get a jump on finding his next job. (With the early signing period, an immediately available, unemployed coach has an advantage when interviewing for a new job.) While we get a jump on finding/naming his replacement. A win-win for everybody.

That is how I would be negotiating this if I was Currie.

This is how I see it. I think it is dangerous for Butch to coach inside Neyland again.

There was a Chattanooga Davenport in my fraternity who graduated the year before I started school. I cannot confirm, but allegedly he had some sort of ID card that he could get free food at any Krystal.

I'm not going to get into a fight over square burgers. That being said, meet me outside and say that 😁

Haha. Is it wierd I prefer them with cheese if I go to White Castle, but without cheese if I go to Krystal? BTW, my grude-ometer is holding at 60%. I think I'll celebrate at Krystal if he comes.
