if the others can get by with the twirly girl over and over, surely i can get by with this post.
this is an excerpt of a study i did from a long time ago.
tell me what you think:
Depending on which Bible you read, there are two stories as to who actually killed Goliath. Both cannot be true. One is true, while the other is a lie.
1 Samuel 17:51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
NIV - 1 Samuel 17:51 David ran and stood over him. He took hold of the Philistine's sword and drew it from the scabbard. After he killed him, he cut off his head with the sword. When the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they turned and ran.
Here, both the Bible and the NIV tell us that David killed Goliath.
2 Samuel 21:19 And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
NIV - 2 Samuel 21:19 In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod.
The KJB states that Elhanan was responsible for killing the brother of Goliath, while the NIV claims he actually killed Goliath.
1 Chron. 20:5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
NIV - 1 Chron. 20:5 In another battle with the Philistines, Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver's rod.
Now the KJB gives the name of Goliaths brother, and the NIV agrees that this is who Elhanan killed.
So, who killed Goliath? Was it David or Elhanan? Even the NIV isnt sure what to believe.
I'm going to repost this because a lot of you are putting WAY TOO MUCH stock in the betonline.ag line moving:
I wouldn't read too much into those betonline.ag lines moving. I said a few Gruden threads ago, when I placed my $500 bet in $50 increments it moved from +1800 to +1600 to +1200 in the 15 minute span that I was betting. It hadn't moved for a few days prior and didn't move for a few days after. Just when I was betting. Unless a bunch of people were throwing a ton of money at it in that exact 15 minutes that I was betting then it dropped that much from a $500 bet. It's not Vegas. It's an offshore web based betting site.
Just based off my bets, I'm guessing that about $2500-$3000 total moved that line. It moves based off of bets being placed electronically. Vegas is not moving the line because it's not Vegas. My receipt from my bets came from China. It's moving based on a couple of fans betting, probably because of things being said on here. There is absolutely no way MIT came here and put all this work in just to make a couple thousand dollars. I am however still skeptical as I have been from the start. This line also does nothing for me as far as thinking Gruden is coming. PLEASE don't base opinions off of this site's line and PLEASE don't but money on him based on this. I took a gamble because that's exactly what it is.

My wife just threatened to go stay at her moms if I don't get off this thread. My reply was, "at least then I could read in peace". She hit me with a couch pillow. #Priorities #Gruden to the Hill
