1. He's miserable.
2. He's angry.
3. All of the negative media makes him look bad.
4. Negative media hurts his ability to sell himself at another big job.
5. At the end of the season he'll have to compete with other, more successful coaches for job openings.
6. He wanted to leave last year.
7. Gruden is coming and hell is coming with him.

Yes to all. Jimmy Sexton can only do so much. Butch's reputation is becoming a national joke, not just a conference joke.

So, I'm working at another healthcare facility today than my usual, and they are having a silent auction for Alzheimer's. I'm browsing the various baskets and the only one that doesn't have bids is the Tennessee basket with 2 tickets to the Homecoming game and various Tennessee things. Starting bid is $25, so far no takers. So sad.

Butch is now affecting fundraising for charity.

I would bid on it, were I there. Great cause. I see all to often, as I'm sure you do as well, the crippling effect of this horrible disease on both the patients and their families.

Just pointing this out, because I think Hyams is always late with news, but I think that is because he likes to make sure he is right. But:

If you remember correctly about two weeks ago Hyams said Jones is here THROUGH the UK.

What are the chances he knows something but will not report it in fear he won't have as much access with the next administration.

Not really earth shattering. Just trying to look at the big picture.

People don’t fall for this. If he loses then yes we could all see him gone but if he wins he ain’t going anywhere yet.

Best case scenario... but no way he wins on Saturday then is fired.

Now if he does some sort of resignation, I could see that. Leave on somewhat of a positive note for his reputation, and of course, UT would be happy.

Based on all I've been reading on here, a resignation is the way he's getting out, right? Accept a lower buyout and leave on good terms?

At least, I'd hope that's it.

Also, Fulmer left after a win over Kentucky, so it'd be poetic.

Posted yesterday about a family member on the admin side of the AD. Told me Butch is out after Kentucky following whatever they were waiting on (still not certain what it was....buyout....structure....new coach...???)--he's still not sure and probably wouldn't have that info anyway in his position.

I didn't get to ask him yesterday about what happens if Tennessee wins on Saturday.

But I did today. "He's out either way."

Whatever they were waiting on finally came to fruition evidently and both parties finally agreed to the details.

I want to believe...

So I get off my conference call (I was the one leading it, so no multi-screen multi-tasking for me) and see that both OV and the good doctor have brought the goods!! Excellent!
