It's pro-rated and if they fire him when he could technically still attain bowl eligibility he could argue for some performance incentives crazy as that may sound. I don't think it's enough money to turn the whole decision. I think it's a combination of not wanting to name an interim and (hopefully) working out fine points with Gruden.

The bowl thing makes sense... probably why they are just going to wait till we are no longer bowl eligible before firing.

That and, maybe if we make it to a bowl UT gets enough money that whatever Jones incentive is becomes moot. Which lines up with the theory that maybe Currie thinks Butch is his best shot to make it to a bowl givin the interim candidates.

That said, the season is over. We won't make a bowl. Bring in Fulmer, get some butts in the seats and let's just pretend like 2008-2017 never happened.

I don't have much to say......this thread sure does move fast though. He can text me if he wants, just curious is all. Can you not send PM's here at all? That would be much easier.

My opinion.......I'm on the fence if I'd even want Gruden anyhow. He never won in the NFL with younger players. I'm sure he knows his stuff but never really developed many younger guys. The NFL game is also a lot more different than it looks because of the hash marks and how it's easier to run in college and throw in the NFL.

I have seen speculation that the real issue here is bowl eligibility. I don't think it is. I think the buyout is complete.

Definitely not bowl related either. He has to be the coach during the bowl to get a bowl bonus.
