This was discussed a little on the Finebaum show today and the question is, "Does Gruden really want to do the recruiting aspect of the job?"

thats why you get good assistants. Gruden just shows up to seal the deal with a 5 star recruit.

We are stuck in a vicious cycle. Tuesday-Saturday we are in the doldrums because Butch has been retained for another week, causing another embarrassing performance on Saturday, and meaning there will be no announcement of a new coach. Literally just got off the phone with Erik and he was flabbergasted anyone could take this out of what he said today. Vehemently denies saying anything if the sort.

To be fair he said 8 wins wasnt cutting it but he did say he likes Jones and would like to see 2 more years so he could get a roster full of his guys running his system. He's made it clear that he's not cosigning for butch. I definitely see how my post is too one sided against him. Didn't mean it to come of that way. Let him know it wasnt an attack on him and I'll try to be a bit more fair going forward. Thanks!

But these are Jones's players at this point, I really don't see hiw he could say Jones needs two more years to get his players running the system, these are his and we see how well it is going

I don't think any players left who are contributing are part of any of Dooley's classes
