I got the Atlanta vol bomb was confirming Beaver is legit but what was the Bubba bomb?

Bubba dealt with the VC side of the deal, saying "the remaining issues had been resolved". Went on to say "at this point, it's in the hands of the Scarabbeans" and "if they give the go-ahead, any problems with divisions" within the administration would resolve.

it was shortly after this that 82,321 people went to wiki trying to make sure scarabbeans wasn't a dinner menu item...

Im leaning toward Beaver being a troll. He got himself backed into a corner with a bunch of stuff that sounded really good. He knew this stuff was not true....then used Atlanta Vol to pretend to out him so he could quietly go away. Thats just my conspiracy theory.

You're killing me, Smalls!

There's a guy in TOS that claims to be friends with a high level d1 coach. E claims that he's been contacted about going Gruden's staff here. He says it isn't over yet but he's excited that he might be coming home. Tifwiw.

There may be a deal in place, but I guarantee that “ink isnt dry” on a contract. Legal issues to clear before that is done. It’s like I would tell candidates that interviewed with me....”the job is yours, I just have to jump through some legal and HR hurdles first.”

iifc Gruden would have to vetted by NCAA and pass their course on violations, forgive an old man for forgetting the exact terms

I know several other legal issues must be covered.... but how can the AD keep quiet a MOA for example on a big a news story as this would be?

My point is simply it will break if it is true

As far as insider information is concerned, I am just an old outsider poster looking in. I did not buy into the theories being promoted by MIT-beaver. I thought on many an occasion that he was trying to overstate his significance with every thread he made. As I said in one of my posts that people with credibility do not have to prove it, and he was highly overstating his.

That is not to say that I do not believe that Gruden is coming here. There does seem to be some early posts from Boro and Coasty, before MIT-beaver, that I thought were significant and have not been rebuked here. In my assessment of this situation I feel I can trust the sources that we had in 2012 since in my belief there was something to Gruden coming to UT at that time, which has been verified by Hyams and others.

I also think that the AD and boosters are maintaining a high level of secrecy due to the fact that there is something major in the works. I think it is also suspicious that there are some good sources on this board from the past that are completely silent to lend credence to that theory. I sincerely hope for the sake of the program that is true.

I do have one question. Atlanta Vol, is that the same reliable poster from the past? I am confused by a post by either Coasty or Boro that this is not the same person that they trusted in from the past.

After thinking this thing thru for days and considering the effort and money that UT says that they are willing to put into this here are my top 3 choices in order:

1. John Harbaugh, hard worker, current NFL coach, Super Bowl Ring, supposedly loves to teach the game. He along with his brother would be a thorn in Saban’s side. I think he is hard nosed and would not play sissy offense or defense.

2. Jon Gruden, hard worker, former NFL coach, Super Bowl Ring, loves UT, would energize the fan base much like the day in early December 1976 when Johnny came marching home. He would be a media darling and attract positive attention to a program that seriously needs it. He also would play hard nosed football and have the intensive attitude that this fan base would appreciate.

3. Scott Frost, up and comer with sound coaching principles who could really relate to recruits. But he lacks big name recognition and from reading several articles I am not sure he would leave UCF. He is smart enough to get into Stanford and is very calculating about his career.

As I said earlier, I am an outsider looking in and from early information by posters on this board I think that Gruden is possible, if not in the works. Having said all of this the one thing that really concerns me is if there is a possibility that Currie is STUPID enough to keep a coach that does not want to be here. I hope there is some kind of gaming going on and we are not looking at the end of a storied program. That would be the result of that type of thinking, if true.

Speaking my language here. I love to crappie fish.

I have struggled with catching them on Norris. It’s a totally different animal than Chickamauga or Kentucky which I grew up fishing.

Grew up fishing on KY as well. Used to primarily launch out of the Springville pumping station with the occasional Mansard launch.

It's neither easy, nor cheap. It involves manually typing the IMG tags, and then a sizable donation to Freak's yacht-leather fund.

I'll help with the yacht...I'm out on Freak in leather.

I just tried doing that....didn't work.

A triangle solo? Surprising!

What's not surprising, being Chuck Norris kicked in the cajones by the ineptitude of the UTAD!

If the deal is inked already, it would be CATASTROPHIC for the dam to burst. We have a coach and it would be NO BUENO for it to become public that UT had negotiated (much less signed) Butch's replacement while Butch was employed.

Not if Butch had already signed his departure agreement as has been reported here by a few

In My Opinion...

Butch and UT reached an accord. There is either a date certain where he is no longer the coach, or the date is contingent on another occurrence.

There are two wrinkles on the new coach side. It's not the money. One wrinkle is the extent of coach control, that battle is being fought between boosters and administration. Academic Admin. is the problem here.

Second wrinkle is extracting new coach from some of his preexisting contractual obligations.

I think it will get worked out, but you can't just snap your fingers and make these wrinkles disappear.
