BS ,even though Butch isn't winning out. It will be career suicide for Currie if he went this route. Season tickets will drop off bigly and it will cost UT more to keep him than it would be to fire him. But it would not surprise me at all if Butch isn't fired. I am not convinced that UT cares about winning anymore but we are getting ready to find out.

Again, until us as fans start demanding more from this AD, things won’t change. We’ve continued to sell out a 100k plus stadium with some of the worst coaching and least successful football in the history of this program. Why change anything?

But you said after Saturday, because they were impatient.

Now don’t try to become pedantic and claim that any date after Saturday is technically after Saturday.

But regardless, you’re saying they’re looking for a new coach for next season?

Call your shot. Lock it in.

Hmm yes. Shallow and pedantic

Don’t y’all realize Beaver is gonna come back after “golfing in LA” with some bs to back up what our trusted people have already said? My money is on him comes back with some boo hoo about it all falling through.

Too late for that; he said it was already signed!

They are way more impatient than most. See Zook and Muschamp as examples

Yeah but unlike those 2, McElwain has won the East 2 years in a row. Granted it's a terrible East but he still did more in 2 years than either of those did in their full tenure. And I don't think they were impatient with Muschamp at all, he had the great second year but his third went 4-8 and lost to a then FCS Georgia Southern, and his last year they barely got bowl eligible.

McElwain will be safe after this year no matter what, but he does this next year and yeah I can see them pulling the trigger.

I just think you’re mixing two unrelated paradigms.

Another school can decide to part ways with their coach and it have nothing to do with the perception of UT and it’s fans.

I’m simply making the point that passionate fan bases can be found on most any college campus. The reasons for fans calling for a coach to be fired can be different...that part is relative. Low pushing some blame onto us is absurd.

Majors was a favorite son and 3 years prior won the SEC and one of the biggest wins in UT history over Miami. Jones is an imbecile that has never won anything.

Won 4 games in his first season. 5 games in both his 3rd or 4th season. Going by your narrative, he’s lucky Woodruff was his boss. Dickey would have fired that ass! :)

I hope they learned from the mistakes of the past afministration.

Still have the same BOT and boosters though.

Maybe we need to take an example from BAMA. Boosters were too involved. Saban demanded total control. The boosters there now are still boosters. But they have 0% influence on Alabama football. Saban is the boss.

Know how to fix that?

I wish it would. I suppose you don’t recall Fowler’s comments during the height of our modern history. That didn’t exist in a vacuum.

Something I've noticed is the "insiders" connected to the AD are saying Gruden is off the table and "insiders" connected to the boosters are saying its a done deal. Then we have Coasty and who has no earthly idea. :)

Still based on what Fulmer did for this University and his tenure, it seems to me that Curry will be aggressive in the handling of the Butch Jones dumpster fire:mf_surrender:

That ship has sailed. If he was aggressive Jones would already be gone. He is already taking this program to new lows every week he is still here. There isn’t much further to fall. The damage is more or less done, and only gets worse with every new decommitment and transfer.

Throw me into that coasty category, Idk what to believe lol.

I agree 100%.. they just have to have something to pin it on.

Give is a good coach and see how mean we are. We would fill that stadium and then some. Think they are a profitable program now? We could probably double that amount of they hire someone to make us relevant again.

I thought the administration had changed when Cheeks was shown the door.

I was wrong... and there's still a war going on the inside over academics and athletics.

No great coach is coming under those conditions and it has nothing to do with fans.

And we have a cheap administration.

And my point is, and has always been, that regardless of merit, the perception is that we are worse than many. Lowe isn’t making that up for Funzies.

I’ll gladly eat crow if Currie comes to the podium first tomorrow and announces that Butch is fired. However I feel like y’all do, until the AD and upper admin show they give a damn about successful football we’re stuck in a black hole. It’s a catch 22 because fans love the Vols so much they’ll support the team regardless of record and fill Neyland, but mediocrity cannot continue.
