The Kentucky game is likely the line of demarcation. Everyone knew we weren't winning that Bama game, and everyone knew it was going to be a blow out, so there was no reason to be surprised or act out of emotion immediately after it. If Butch can't handle Kentucky things will start moving very quickly following that game.

But, that is positioning us as a football program that measures its success based on Kentucky. Not Alabama or Georgia.

Yeah, we all knew that Alabama was going to wax us. But, THAT'S the problem. It's year 5 of Butch's leadership - we should be COMPETITIVE against the elite teams in the conference.

If we want to settle for only being competitive against the middling teams and bottom feeders - I do think Butch can have us there long term. However, it's beyond clear that he will not have us competitive against the elite of the conference.

If we want to be Kentucky and South Carolina long term... then ok. Let's start managing our expectations.

Yes,
Currie will have no choice if we lose to Kentucy.

Shouldn't have to wait on the UK / Vandy games!!!

At least your honest.

yep disclaimer. Sorry if I confused anyone or got any hopes up. But I'm just a guy with no "sources" or anything.. I'm a fan that would love to see Gruden happen and even with all the bad news lately, just trying to keep the faith. Anything I state, like most here, is just feelings and opinions. With that said, I believe:

It ain't over til its over!

soon

Fans aren't getting paid six figures to get our assess beat down by our biggest rivals. Sick of this mean fan argument, we've been putting up with trash for ten years and still pour money into UTAD.

Chris Low can go to hell.

Preach :lolabove:
Tell him to kiss your big 🍊 arse.

Gonna go out on a limb and say we have the highest revenue per D1 win of any school in the nation, and I bet there isn't a close second.

Wonder if that has anything to do with how "mean" the fan base is. The whole argument is stupid. Most fans, my self not included, were completely behind Butch at the start of the year. All the whole the rest of the SEC knew damn well our coach was a fraud. To act like we turn on our coaches quickly is bull****. It's just a narrative that comes about when you have lousy coaches for a decade.

Per Low on the radio earlier, Butch not getting fired anytime soon. Someone wants the team to make a bowl game and says Butch is the best bet to get them there. Says if Butch is removed after the season, Mullen would be at the top of the list. Also said the fans were mean and demanding and that would not go well with potential coaches because they here how mean we are as fans.

So, now it's all the fan's fault?
That's taken straight from the Butchite bible.

Yes, fans are mean. How dare we expect to actually win games? We should be completely happy watching our inept coach make millions for failing at his job.

Seriously, if Chris Low said that ****, he needs to get his head out of Butch's ass and take a good look at reality. No fanbase in the country would be sitting idly by with their mouths' shut after going through the crapstorm we have been through.

I apologize for expecting a quality product on the field :)

This is typical of every single Power 5 fan base, especially those programs who expect to win.... I’m in Ohio and OSU fans wanted Meyer gone last year and are already talking replacements if they lose to Penn State and/ or Michigan... now that is crazy! We are just fed up and want our AD to quit hiring bargain coaches and go big for once!

For the record I’d love to have Mullen here.

I’ve tried to communicate this on here for years, but whether it’s true, or even fair, to some in the rather small coaching fraternity, or even smaller agent fraternity, UT apparently has a troubling reputation as having fans that are an issue, to put it mildly. And yes, that issue is perceived as being as an outlier among even other big time programs. We might not have the reputation as being the worst, but it isn’t good.

Majors was a favorite son and 3 years prior won the SEC and one of the biggest wins in UT history over Miami. Jones is an imbecile that has never won anything.

But Tennessee hasn’t won 9 games back to back in forever.

We’ve won 3 straight bowl games.

It’s a process.

All big time fan bases are crazy. If a coach turns downs big money and a talented roster from Tennessee because he's scared of fans then to he!! with them.

The Kentucky game as far as a win or loss should have ZERO bearing on anything. Jones fate is there for the entire country to see, if the boosters and administration cannot see that they are BLIND!. Now if they are holding off until after Kentucky for other reasons it's a different story. But if they are still trying to decide Jones fate they are NUTS and will be laughed at nationally and we will lose a lot, more than some of them apparently realize. PLEASE SOON!!!! GBO!!!! VFL but I am not going to aid in mediocrisy nowhere but my couch. GET IT RIGHT!!!!!

Why do people keep bringing up the Kentucky game? Why in the flying flipping f*** would it matter at this point if jones wins that one or loses it? We are 0-4 in SEC play. That’s grounds for firing in year 5, without a doubt

Also closed out the year strong and won the SEC the next two years. Does anyone think Butch will go 11-1 next year?

At least your honest.

Started to ignore the beav myself but the more he posted it seemed to me like he was the son of someone important sitting in on the family business and couldn’t keep it to himself...as far as butch’s fire date it has to be either the behind the scenes haven’t finished or he is waiting on something like a grand announcement to stir up the fanbase...just my opinion and maybe I should have consulted VFLNSCD

Tbh. I'm not sure what's going on. I was discussing earlier about the misinformation campaign with tc, but I know literally no one that would have info.

To me it makes sense that false info would be leaked to see who is trustworthy and to muddy the waters so it doesn't blow up in their face later on down the road.

I see so much conflicting info that's it has to be on purpose, if not then there are a lot of folks out there trolling and speaking of things they know nothing about OR there is a lot of dysfunction among the AD and boosters.

I'm hoping it's the first 2 reasons and not the last.

Soon..

The only thing it can do is help Jones; if we win then he immediately start crowing about improving and from a PR standpoint it would look worse to fire him after a win than a loss. He should have been let go today.
