Well Gruden is Grumored to have. Power Spread Hybrid lol so...maybe just Butch's explosive offense (when it works, mixed with when we need a yard or two, or to keep the defense off balance we can go under center.

What's that?

I'd assume a Run N Gun type Offense. One that utilizes the spread when we need to spread out a defense, BUT when needed or is a defensive weakness can lineup and run the ball down the defenses throat.

The shotgun spread is awesome due to the fact that the QB has a better view of the matchups and more time in the pocket by about a second or two. Bigger pass plays happen more frequently in the gun.

Old school slobber knocker football. Thats what I miss. None of this see if we can run to the side and dive for a yard. I want to pound the rock up the middle and get 7 yards everytime. I want the big OLine like in the early 2000s with the big backs that werent scared to hit the gap and crush a Linebacker. I want the receivers that want the ball thrown to them even when they are covered because they know they are better. I want the linebackers that were all taped up because all they did was tackle and hit bodies all day long. i want the old smash mouth UT football that we grew up on. No more test or hybrids. I want the real deal.

He isn't in Madden...he MAY make that much with Corona and ESPN, but he isn't involved in Madden at all. Maddens color analyst is VFL Charles Davis.

He failed as a HC in Michigan with Rich Rods players... Dude had a 24-7 record at Michigan in the same time period that the GREAT Jim Harbaugh too is 24-7. I'd find some way to keep Hoke.

He makes 6.5 at ESPN. Plus endorsements. We could offer 8 base plus bonuses to get around 10-11 per year. Plus endorsements. Seems like a nice raise to me.

Something to consider, we have what you might call Tennessee blood behind the scenes this time.

Currie has a master's degree from Tennessee, so he undoubtedly, does not want Tennessee to be the laughingstock that Hart and Cheek made us out to be.

I mentioned Davenport's local connections and upbringing.

Manning is now retired and is behind the scenes making things happen.

Fulmer is raising money and we all know how he feels about TN.

Majors is no doubt talking to Jon and the people in power about hiring him.

Point being, we have a lot of people who love and understand Tennessee now, that we didn't have 5 years ago.

What's even better than that is the fact that the football coach they are rumored to be pursuing has stated on numerous occasions his love and admiration for Tennessee and people associated with Tennessee.

I love the Gruden discussion....but here is a real question. With all the expectations and Gruden hype out of 400 plus pages....can Gruden live up to the hype and if he doesn’t or can’t live up can his ego handle that he fell short?? There’s no garuntee of his nor anyone’s success. Can he and is he willing to take on that risk?

Hell no. You can't win in college without putting your athletes in a position to out athlete the guy guarding them. The spread requires the defense to win one on one match ups, which most teams don't have the personnel to do consistently.

Look at how well the pro style offense is treating Jim Harbaugh.

Exactly. I want the other teams scheming and adjusting because we have players they dont want to go against on one side (most recently barnett).

I want the hard knock days. We used to be a fear. People didnt want to come to Neyland. They dreaded it. Now they come to hangout and take selfies.
