Said the same thing yesterday on John Pennington's Sports Source....7-5 wouldnt want to be in Butch's shoes and 6-6 he would be gone.

No, just a realist. Someone please explain what he has done at the college level to warrant such a high level of respect. There are many examples of NFL & College coaches that have failed miserably when switching between the two, Saban and Spurrier being the two most notable.

Aside from the previois examples that have been given
He has a TON of strong connections through out the sport at all levels through his work with the ffca, his QB camp and MNF. (Speaks to his ability to find and hire a strong college staff)
His already strong knowledge of the game has only been expanded by the shear, constantly expanding, volume of film he studies and has access to on a daily basis (speaks to his ability to adapt his offense)
Combine all that with his stated affection for the University Of Tennessee and it's ready to see how someone could think it would work here.

Hymns is a local reporter and protects himself with the administration.... He says what they want him to say.

I heard he said in Nashville today that Butch will be here next season, I heard him say last night in Knoxville at 6 pm that if Butch went 7-5 that He didn't think he would be back!

Somebody in the administration got to him, would be my guess.... jmo

lol no way in hell he wins out. After this Saturday the offense will be 14 quarters without scoring a TD, no way in hell they get in the endzone against bama.

Southern Miss isnt a for sure win at this point.

Jimmy doesn’t know anything. He only reports what University tells him and that is very little. I normally get a message on my phone before I hear it from Jimmy. Jimmy basically relays old information to make sure it is confirmed by everyone.

He said on Nashville radio that he probably let go! said if we wait until Nov 1 the complete staff buy would be 15 million.

I just don't think anything is going to happen today on either side of the equation. I have no inside information just going on past experience in the last coaching search. Things tend to build up and look like it's happening and then nothing.
I expect the normal cliché filled useless Monday press conference today and probably the same next Monday. I'm as frustrated as anyone else and want him fired yesterday but that doesn't matter to the ones running the show.

My advice to everyone is to be patient and not get your hopes up on anything happening in the next few days or possibly weeks. I hope I'm able to take my own advice.
