Hiring Gruden could be the safest hire for Currie. Many of us want it and most people don’t believe it will happen anyway. Hire him and live with the results. Anyone else and the base may be divided for a while.

If he had been coached to spike the ball in that situation, he wouldn't have spent precious seconds looking to the sideline for instructions. And obviously, he ran a play, so he wasn't instructed to spike the ball.

He was coached to spike the ball and he didn’t because he’s a young player. Happens.

Our past searches have left me feeling battered and abused. Currie needs to not screw this up for my mental well-being alone. He needs to understand this isn't just football, my sanity is at stake.

This could very well happen. They will not fire Butch until they have his replacement lined up. You can pretty much guarantee this statement. If not, nothing has been learned from the past firings.
