And in my pessimism with the higher ups, I believe that list is Gruden, Kelly and Tom Resptiner from Wyoming State. He’s an up and comer with 4 state titles and runs this new offense ran out of the extra point formation.

Extra point formation? Haha with our kickers and y'all call Chip Kelly's offense to gimmicky for the SEC...

i agree. A hire like this will only upset the fanbase even more.

All I can offer is one former player (large donor now) opinion and my my own..... my buddy says that Butch is through. We are going after a name coach and have the money and that I will really like the hire if they get who they want.... refused to name any names

Other posts I have seen said exactly the same....

My buddy did add Butch could still turn it around but haven't heard anyone else that said that

I've missed this since last time. I told my husband last night that it's the most positive place on the internet. I don't post much, but I'm connected just enough to know how close we were to getting him last time.
To me, the primary benefit to Gruden (other than his x's and o's) is how instantly he neutralizes the recruiting disadvantage in TN. Overnight we are on equal footing with Bama. Regardless, our hire has to have this name recognition to compete for recruits.
Of course, I know it's going to be Gruden though!!

That's the attidtude!

I think it is just someone trying to earn some e-cred or trolling.... right now (as bad as it sounds) I am hanging my hat on Finebaum (Slice, Boro, you and the others here)

Gruden or burst

I am by no means an insider, rather I just take peoples word who are considered to have insider knowledge or connections and base it from there. Someone like Vinman I cant put to much account into. Also I wanna point out from the user illated94 on twitter said this

None of the names on that list give me hope.

Mullen is a better coach than Butch (not saying much) but not what we need. I would be very disappointed if he were hired.

Gruden's ring tells me we should be patient.
There are many flaws in the program that will take time to correct.
The ring tells me to be pleased with a mere conference championship in year one but falling short in the national championship game.
But fret not, my child, for in year two our reign of dominance shall truly begin!

Gruden be with you

I had a vision that confirmed this. There were seven trees. The first was tiny, scrawny. The second slightly bigger. The third and fourth larger, medium sized. The fifth, small and terrible. Smaller than the first. Then the sixth tree was large. The seventh, the largest I've ever seen.

It was Revealed to me the first 5 were Butch's years. The last 2 Gruden's first 2. The first Gruden one was SEC title. The second and NC.

It's going to be weird to watch all the Butch crotch sniffing sunshine pumpers become negavols when Gruden is hired ...

Going to be even more entertaining the cognitive dissonance that occurs when he gets us back on top and they try to spin that as a bad thing.

Fun times, full ahead Gruden.

5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a SEC Championship trophy with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw the mighty angel of Gen Neyland proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and bring us the championship?” 3 But no one on the current staff could break the seals or even look at it. 4 I wept and wept because no one on the staff was found who was worthy to break the champion seals or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders, he who is known by Peyton, said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Chucky, the Almighty Gruden, has triumphed! He is able to bring us the championship and its seven seals.”

And then I heard in Neyland, and all of VN, and on the Vol Sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne- the Almighty Grude,
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

Well done.

Just an FYI. Gruden's overall record is 95-81 or .54%. Butch Jones' overall record is 133-83 overall or .62%.

Heck, even this year so far his winning % is better than Gruden's. So, keep on with the Grumors if you want a .54% winning % coach to replace your .600 winning percentage coach. LOL

Just Saying!

JimVol

Yes and Saban had a .469 winning % in the NFL. See how your logic works? Have a Grude day.

You do realize those guys just want the university to succeed so they lean towards hope instead of negativity. They will pump just as much sunshine about the next coach.

If those sunshine pumpers rallied behind a guy like Butch Jones what makes you think they would rally behind Gruden?

Or any new coach for that matter.
