Official Jon Gruden Thread XVII

I'm just glad to hear the news that the people of influence within our program are all in agreement to finally go after a big name with big money. I'm not saying I think it'll be Gruden, but it is nice to hear some reliable people say that there is a solid list in place and money figures that will force people to say no to us. That's the type of attitude and thinking that will restore Tennessee football. Not hiring a coach from South LA Tech because he has a .680% winning percentage and won the Mediocre Conference title.

All BS aside, does a loss tomorrow mean Butch is fired (publicly) before the weekend ends? I want it just like you fine gentleman but why would they do that and put the interim up against the Sith and the rest of the Empire next week? If JG is contracted with MNF how could he be serious about being our coach mid-season with MNF games through the rest of the year? IN GRUD WE TRUST

Let's just play the "what if" game...

If Lyle gets canned in the next bit and we do hire Gruden, can you imagine what 2018's TSIO will be like? Especially if either we are undefeated or a single loss team?

CBS will go for broke to make it the 3:30 game and Verne Lundquist would come out of retirement just to call that game and drool all over himself.

I dunno, it doesn't sit well with me to actively root for UT to lose.

I'm more along the lines of "it won't bother me if we lose" or "I will be kinda relieved if we lose".

I hope Gruden is not visible tomorrow.

Hopefully the Gruden will not see his shadow.

Screw that.
I hope he stands silently and without expression about three steps behind Butch. Oh, and every other play he whips out a notepad, jots something down, puts it back into his pocket, and resumes his stoic stance.

I hope he stands ominously above the jumbotron. Cape blowing in the wind.

Soon!

If it means Verne is coming back, I may have to reconsider this whole Gruden thing.
