I would love for him to be a option, I know a lot of people that just make up stuff. Still I think there was some smoke to Gruden and Tennessee last time. There were some that I believe posted legit things involving Gruden last time, and I do think there was some interest. Having said that there are other top candidates around, and while I want to hear about it if we do pursue Gruden I fully realize that some are just playing along and have no real info. Let crazy season commence, hopefully we land a great coach. SOON!!!!! GBO!!!!!

I think there is a better chance of seeing a flock of Ivory Billed Woodpeckers circling Ayers Hall than there is of seeing Gruden on the Tennessee sideline.

Think I'll just take a wait and see approach. IF UT hires Gruden and IF he meets expectations UT football will be the 8th Wonder of the World. But life has taught me that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Also that the only thing written in stone are the 10 Commandments. So I'll just wait and see. Just sayin'.

Hello 'ol friends. Here we are again. Like Boro said, I too wore my computer out with F5/ctrlR buttons. I was deeply depressed when Butch was announced as coach. So count me in this time as well. We need Smokeyhuntsgators to help with this thread.

I have stated before I am in sports media...and back in 2012 when all this mania was going on I had heard there was a good chance Gruden was coming. I am admitting my "sources" apparently were unreliable. That...or it was closer to happening than we think.

But. After the fact we heard that Hart had reached out to him and simply said he wouldn't be doing his due diligence if he didn't at least call Jon to see if there was any interest. And there was not. So apparently there was only this one phone call and all the rest was made up BS. I don't know what to believe. I do believe that Gruden is well aware of all the speculation and thrives off it. I think he knows exactly what he's doing when he wears an orange tie on MNF. He's just trolling and having fun with it. He DOES love the attention and interest. He loves to be wanted.

I am however totally in on the Gruden speculation train. For some reason it is a happy pick me up to an otherwise dismal season and outlook. Even if it doesn't happen it's fun. You realize we are one signature of Gruden's away from being relevant and a national factor. That's how quick it can happen and things change...overnight. I do believe he has the potential to change everything. I don't even think he has to show up at kid's homes. The mere mention of playing for Gruden will have kids signing up. Especially the 5 stars who will see him as their ticket to the NFL. Perception is everything.
