Gruden is a high risk especially with the $$ it would cost, but he would put together a staff with attitude to get UT back to big time ball. If he is hired, then every off season there will be Grud rumors and Vol worries about him leaving. I'm not to worried about that if he puts the awesome staff together which would probably have coaches on it that could take over when he left. The main thing would be that he got us back where we wouldn't have to remind 18 year olds we were awesome once. Gruden, come on down!!!!

Wed- Vic Grider (roomed with Gruden at UT) resigns
Thurs- Hue Jackson (shared office with Gruden at Pacific) interested in UT

Does this not strange to anyone, or is it just two HUGE coincidences

And a wr who tee recruited decommits n talks TN.....what....

I kinda agree. And, as far as that "3 denials" thing goes, if you're going to hold to the idea that gruden is the guy, then ofcourse there will be 3 denials...that goes without saying. All signs were pointing to the fact that those decisions would be made yesterday anyway. If we get gruden, I will apologize to y4b (even though I haven't really bashed him...just expressed skepticism)

LOL at the 3 denials. What is this, A Song of Ice and Fire?

lmao. complete bs.

I can buy that maybe the money is still there and they are trying again and maybe even that the AD is asking for more money, but the ESCROW theory is slightly ridiculous for several reasons:

1. The boosters would not put up money before a hire is made, they may promise the money, but it wouldn't leave there possession.

2. The boosters most likely will promise the money at so much over the life of the contract and not all up front...

3. ESCROW is primarily used for Loans and paying the responsibilities of the borrower and rarely has anything to do with ready funds. Unless it is investments, but then there is usually a process to go about getting those funds...

Just my .02

sheezy, are you a gruden believer or not? Your mood swings are making it hard to pin point your opinion on all of this.

I used to believe. but I've used logic to figure out he's not coming. If he was coming, it would be known by now. IMO, there's less than a 5% chance we get Gruden. Only way would be if Boosters and Hart say screw it and give in to his demands. It's over. Move on guys.

I'm not trying to be a negagrude or whatnot it just makes no sense. We are grasping at straws.

SIAP - given all the server problems, I cannot keep up with what has and has not been posted. For every 2 pages that I get through reading, 3 more new pages seem to appear.

From TOS: VolinJC posted:

USC Decommit Wants To See Vols
Top247 wide receiver Eldridge Massington, who decommitted from USC on Tuesday, says Tennessee is one of a handful of teams he's currently considering

Wonder if Tee has anything to do with this?

Link doesn't work. I only see he is interested in Ala.

A quick education:

OG = Original Grudes - been following and contributing to this since Gruden Thread I
TOS = The other sites - not Vol Nation

and by the way an ESCROW - in layman's terms, it's an account where money is placed to show intent, but the intended party cannot access it until all terms have been agreed upon by both parties. If an agreement is not reached the funds are returned to their original owner. If this story is true, this would be good news in that Boosters really put their money on the line and that the money is still there and hasn't been returned.

The folks who started the initial Gruden Rumors months ago OG = Original Grudenite

And despite what many say there are only three or four.

This ^^^

I only have an OG avatar because AJ made it for me. :)

That being said, I've been here from the beginning and I'll see it to the end. I'm not a quitter and there's too much about this situation that smells fishy.

Um, that's not true. That's just the reason most-commonly used by people in daily life (e.g., the home mortgage escrow account for paying taxes and insurance, or as earnest money in a home loan closing).

Attorneys, in particular, use escrow account for every single penny of money that a client or 3rd party may have claim to, on penalty of disbarment.
