Don't read too much into it, but my news reporter friend has got wind of us hiring a coach and its not Gruden. I am sorry to bring this bad news and this is NOT confirmed, but they are starting to hear rummors.

I am still 90% Gruden. Hoping to hear from my other friend soon, but he has been really hard to get ahold of so something's goin down.

I live in the Maryville/Collinsville area. Good ole SAFB! You should see how much the area has grown, don't know if you ever come back. Good to see all the IL Vols. All Gruden All Day!

Personally the failed NFL route is more exciting than a college re-tread/mid-major hire (save a few) to me

One of the McKensize twins fired him. Raleigh I think. He is VFL so that story ain't going nowhere.

Fair enough...I just didn't really understand why someone would hang around if they don't believe in the subject matter. I have perused other coaching threads that I have thought might pan out and discussed, but when all my hope is gone, there is nothing more to discuss. So maybe you do have a shred of hope or want someone to bring it back.

And for the record, I have been here since G1, just didn't start posting until later. I don't have anyone who I consider "truly credible" as a source, so just wanted info and am a fan of Gruden in general.

All good, and you are correct if I had completely shut the door I probably would not be updating this thread so often lol. Because I do not think it will happen is not the same as I wouldn't like it to happen.

Everyone talking about Hue Jackson now it seems, at least those I know are. I said after Strong turned us down I expect our next coach to come out of left field. Hue is left field lol.

There are two types of men and the differences are never more poignant than when times get challenging:
1)those who run around, cry, point fingers, and begin the whoeth me looking for a scape goat

2)those that buck up, do something, and fight for what they believe in

What you see here in this PRO-GRUDEN thread are people who have high hopes and expectations for the university and the program. they are here taking their knocks and fighting for a cause, an ideal...
Before you bash, think about what you would want to fight for and what type of man you want be!

I bet it has. We lived there in the mid 90's then again in early 2000's and it had grown a lot then. Haven't been back since 2009.

I know it's growing cause I saw O'Fallon is now playing 8A ball in football.

It should. He did a good job there until he was fired for no reason. I think he would bring a lot to UT.
