from a football standpoint, (not basketball) would people agree that things starting falling apart when Dickey retired? Cant see him being pushed around by the likes of Cheek and others.

I would take Dickey back. He had a good business mind, wasn't a pushover, and was a football guy. My biggest beef was he treated basketball like a redheaded step child, but we're not exactly setting the world on fire there now.

If I wasn't in Illinois and watching my two boys on my day off, I would be heading down to Knoxville in full inspector gadget mode trying to figure out if Gruden was in fact in the area. I would be handing out hundred dollar bills to anyone with legit info on his whereabouts. Then if I found him, I would scream like a little school girl, get back in my car and cry most of the way back to Illinois. Knowing good and well that the Gruden ship is almost docked. Watch out SEC we will be back and I will find humor in seeing you all cry like a schoolgirl, just as I did, knowing we are taking all your recruits. HAHAHAHA GBO!

I think the majority of us even those in the Gruden non believer crowd are in desperation mode. The sad think, I think our AD is in desperation mode. I hope to God, that doesn't lead us to Smart.

What if it's true that Hart sent Jimmy Cheek to meet with Strong on Sunday - TB indicated that Strong was scared off UT partly because of getting guys in school.

Maybe Hart was leaving Cheek dangling in the wind to explain Tennessee's admission standards. I don't know - just a thought!

I respect that you do not believe Gruden is coming. It makes sense. But why do you keep dropping your dueces all over this thread? Why not spend your time elsewhere and let the people here discuss their possibilities? You're not going to convince anyone of anything at this point. At any rate GBO no matter what happens!!

All I have done is try to answer truthfully questions that are asked about my opinion and such. I spend time here because I want to and enjoy the thread. Not too hard to understand, I have been here since 1 and am not running off because I am not a cheerleader and lie about how I feel, what my opinion is, and everything else.

Save the "go somewhere else" I was probably here before you even knew the thread existed.

I am 100% in agreement with this...if Gruden is not going to happen then I am all in with Fulmer...probably won't happen but I think that is the safest thing for our program right now...and Fulmer has enough clout to help get the administrative stuff turned around...to my understanding Fulmer did not burn bridges with the Big money guys

Don't post on here much, but I have mentioned this. I've been saying the exact same thing about Fulmer and the administration for weeks to anyone who will listen.

Now, it's time to nut up and hire the guy back. As long as he brings back Chavis and Tee to go along with Graham and will consider retaining Chaney and Pittman, he's far and away the best choice for this program that's left. He unites the players, the former players, the big money, and everyone within the administration would respect and listen to him. Forget about the fans that would hate it. As soon as he announced Chavis and Tee and Tee/Graham pulled Bell, Ramsey, and some other top recruits the fans in the minority would jump on board.

Still hoping for Gruden, but like most of you, to the point that if it is not, lets get Coach Fulmer back in here. We all complained that he "got lazy" in recruiting but with the information that has come out lately regarding the academic issues, maybe it wasnt him at all, and not to mention he had a DC that just didnt have much enthusiasm toward recruiting. Maybe i am to the point of grasping at straws, but Fulmer, Pelini, Fedora, Jones, Smart.......Id go with Fulmer. Will keep my fingers crossed for Gruden.

You think Gruden flew into Knoxville without him being seen, flights tracked, cars tracked, etc? Not possible. There are a thousand media/fans/random people in Knoxville looking for anyone even resembling a coach right now.
