The only thing that continues to give me hope is one of the most important rules of crisis communications is to be out in front of the story. The AD knew that Strong was turning us down before anybody, yet they continue to let the media dictate the storyline.

So either...
#1 Not only is the Athletic Department and Administration incompetent, but the Public Relations department is as well

#2 We are not in Crisis- Gruden 2012

pretty clear #1 is what's happening, and i don't need a times free press article to tell me that.

Will West said that sources inside the AD are saying Gruden IS back in play.

He went on to say that Gruden was in town yesterday. He said that that didn't necessarily have ANYTHING to do with him being back in play but that he is in fact back in play

Maybe flew in on that plane from Oakland???

I've looking for an answer to this all day. Pro tip. You won't find the answer here. Last night somebody said, "you might want to set your alarm clock for 10-15 minutes early in the morning." Insinuating that there would be an article in the physical TFP paper or article online. Neither occurred. Neither discussed as far as I can see.

Think about this for a moment:

What if it's true that Hart sent Jimmy Cheek to meet with Strong on Sunday - TB indicated that Strong was scared off UT partly because of getting guys in school.

Maybe Hart was leaving Cheek dangling in the wind to explain Tennessee's admission standards. I don't know - just a thought!

I respect that you do not believe Gruden is coming. It makes sense. But why do you keep dropping your dueces all over this thread? With all the candidates that have turned us down we are at the point where we either get Gruden or the whole thing is just one giant mess and PR nightmare. I just cant see it being Gruden unless Hart trained under James Bond to be a double agent so im going with the mess idea. I love the vols and this sucks. Looking like another Dooley type hire unless we bring back Fulmer. Please note that I cant believe im saying that, but its true. Even the later day lazy Phil is better than our other options at this point.

LOL If I'm not mistaken, the 24 hour period started about 52 times now dating back 2 weeks. Yeah it's an awfully long 24 hours. I want Gruden more than anybody I really do. This yay4bray guy and his statements are trollish imo.

So he said 3 coaches would turn us down. Is it really that hard to believe that 3 coaches would turn us down with the state of our program now? What would of been a surprising prediction would of been that no coaches would turn us down.

Weren't those last 2 JuCo's. They didn't have the extra math that the SEC requires JuCo transfers. That is not a UT issue. I believe that Loften is the only high school athlete....could be wrong, maybe am but don't want to take the time to look it up.

Program killers - Kirby Smart / Bo Pelini / Butch Jones / Petrino because of current rep
Program Stabalizers - Fedora /Fulmer/. (might swap Fulmer and Pelini..could go either way)
Program builders- Gruden, Kelly, Stoops, Gundy, Spurrier

This is not because of coaching ability alone but factors in recruiting, coaching, public relations and excitement with our own fan base.

Just my honest opinion. I'm getting more and more nervouse it's looking like the program killer names. Before you say our program has already been killed by Dooley, we are still considered a good destination. If we make another bone headed hire like it looks like right now. We are done for another 10 yrs.
