Official Jon Gruden Thread XVI

The mere thought of hiring Fulmer back has me thinking seriously about never wearing orange again or going to another game.. It's not because I dislike Phil either it's more that it would be proof positive, to me, that this university does not care about the football program and has its collective head so far up its ass there is no hope what so ever of it being removed....

So would you take Kirby Smart over Fulmer at this point? Not being argumentative but it looks like that is the direction we are headed if its not Gruden.

Let me ask this. If our academic standards are SO high, tell me one athlete that hasn't gotten in besides the Lofton kid a year or two ago. Also if our standards were so high, how were we able to get the Phillips kid in when Florida couldn't. Doesn't make sense. I think we need to quit regurgitating that tired line of thinking until somebody can produce the actual standards and guidelines for student athletes. I am a high school coach in the mid-state that has seen players go to ALL levels of college and UT admissions have been the least of our worries. If you can clear the clearinghouse and make the right composite ACT and GPA you are good.....end of story.

Not necessarily disagreeing with your point, but...

Eddrick Loften
John Brown
Dave Clark.

There's at least two who never made it.

What is different at all than it was last night????

Time passing... nothing substantive happening.

There was hope for a TFP Hargis article today which would show the Gruden to TN thing was back in play... but as has been the case since day 1; despite thousands of posts and millions of views.... all we have is hope unsubstantiated through any official news outlets or administrative officials.

I'm full Gruden but if he wants to finish out with ESPN, then the last Monday night football game is December 17. Then there is also a Saturday game on 22 December. The recruiting dead periods start cropping up in mid December. 17-19 December is one of them. Might have to wait that long for an announcement on Gruden. Although with all the negative articles about UT coming out regarding the coaching search, Hart's hand could be forced to announce the hire earlier. Just my 2 cents.

The only thing that continues to give me hope is one of the most important rules of crisis communications is to be out in front of the story. The AD knew that Strong was turning us down before anybody, yet they continue to let the media dictate the storyline.

So either...
#1 Not only is the Athletic Department and Administration incompetent, but the Public Relations department is as well

#2 We are not in Crisis- Gruden 2012

First of all..MY GAWD to the server...please be fixed soon. Secondly, I cannot blame anyone but myself for getting sucked into this Gruden stuff. Last night, I bought back in. Today, I think I may have to sell my stock.......

In case Insunseri is lurking...Nickelback>Dave Hart

Didn't Skeet say that Hart went after his guy, the old money boosters will be unhappy (in my opinion, since they want someone not named Gruden), but all will be known soon?

Isn't baby on TOS saying done deal?

Why lose the faith?

Hang tight. Water is choppy.

where is the TFP article you predicted yesterday?
Oh that thing. Pay no attention to that.

I've looking for an answer to this all day. Pro tip. You won't find the answer here. Last night somebody said, "you might want to set your alarm clock for 10-15 minutes early in the morning." Insinuating that there would be an article in the physical TFP paper or article online. Neither occurred. Neither discussed as far as I can see.

I really don't think we will have to wait too much longer. I almost am beginning to wonder if UT bought out the ESPN contract as well.

If what someone said about yesterday was the last payment for TB, and UT buys out the ESPN contract, he is ours.

And SOON.

Will West said that sources inside the AD are saying Gruden IS back in play.

He went on to say that Gruden was in town yesterday. He said that that didn't necessarily have ANYTHING to do with him being back in play but that he is in fact back in play

I will join on the wagon in saying Yay4Bray is FOS. People started catching on to him for never posting anything other than saying it was going to happen soon. So then he went an threw out that 24 hours statement that is pure garbage. I can tell you this much Gruden is still in play but nothing is going to happen today. I don't know the wxact dye that it will happen, but I was told early on that it would be sometime around dec 17. As of now I have no reason to doubt what I've been told so I'm just going to stick with it until I have reason not to.

Three years ago I would have thought #2. But then we hired Dooley.

I have to believe that #1 is currently more plausible than #2.
