I will help you guys a little bit in connecting the dots. A lot of things I cannot reveal to you....but some things that are public information - - should steer you in the right direction.

First off - Lets remove the idea that Jon Gruden doesn't want to be considered for the job here.

** I know for a fact Jack that Gruden was talking to assistant coaching candidates about positions with UT on Saturday night and Sunday morning. I know he was specifically talking to them about TENNESSEE. I cannot tell you these coaches names. Sorry...not gonna do it. But I will say this - if he truly wasn't interested and it was truly dead - he would truly not be talking to these coaches.

** I know for a fact Jack that we have had Gruden as a candidate twice before this. Kiffin hire and Dooley hire. Both times Gruden came out and denied that he was a candidate himself in person quickly. He did the same thing with Arkansas this year. But, he NEVER did that with us. Didn't you think his agent saying we were in Fantasy Land was a bit over the top. Maybe he had to quiet rumors quickly because we couldn't hire JG at that time.

** Recent evidence - as of yesterday and today. Who were the names of the coaches who Jay Graham has been telling people we were looking to hire? Gruden or Strong. Jalen Ramsey last night said "sometimes change is good" about UT. Someone asked him if he was "feeling Strong" - he said "Nope." Guess what - some of these recruits have been told it is Gruden. Also yesterday there were reports of Jay Graham meeting with Tee Martin in middle TN. This meeting was supposedly to be on CCS staff. Right idea....wrong staff. Then today Ivan Maisel tells UT fans to - "be patient - it took Alabama several misses before Saban." Today - Archie Manning talking about how happy Vol fans would be with their surprise coach on his interview with Brando.....was Strong a surprise?

** Today Grider quits his gig with South Pittsburgh. I am sure its a coincidence that he is good friends with Gruden. He also knows high school kids and Gruden from what I have heard was very worried about relating to HS kids and knowing the college rules and such. Grider will be on the staff with JG. Also, I think JG already has a TN staff ready to roll and it will have a heavy orange feel to it.

** Finally - I have been lead to believe from one of my sources that a substantial gift was made specifically for JG. If we failed to hire him, the gift was revoked.

**** That is all I can say at this time. I have connected tons of dots for you, but honestly there are a whole lot more of them out there. I hope you enjoy. I hope you believe. I HAVE NOT SEEN A SIGNED CONTRACT. THINGS MAY FALL THROUGH AND I WOULD BECOME A LAUGHING STOCK.....but, I have never mislead you before on this stuff. I am not trolling. I am just telling you what I know....what I have deducted using logic, and what I believe to be true. So - there go. Flame away.

I'm beginning to think even if we do hire gruden, some of haters in this thread are still gonna be picking fights. smh.

I don't know where the "TFP bomb article at midnight" came from. I only heard there would be an interesting article tonight, and I assumed it was the Grider article.
It was that and his tweet. He said more to come soon and to pay attention tomm in the am could be some info coming out we might be interested in

Maybe Hargis is referring to the fact that the Grider situation will give more Gruspiracy theorists ideas. Please don't take my post as me not wanting Gruden, but I think many are reading into his tweet....way too far. He was probably thinking...hmmm...you know...people are gonna connect dots on that situation and get all kinds of crazy ideas.

Its the wording. He makes it sound like he wants us to connect the dots.

To lighten the mood (from the Travis blog in the cliff notes):

"It's gotten so bad a prominent Tennessee booster just texted me this, 'Dave Hart couldn't get laid in a whorehouse with a fist full of hundreds.'"

So, Hart was the problem and Haslam gave him enough rope to hang himself. I see Fulmer or Blackburn being named AD soon.

First post ever!

My first game was in 2004 when Florida lost to tn which was wilhoits 51 yard field goal and man was I pumped! I grew up watching the vols and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to get that as my first game! I have not been this excited in years for football. I am from Chattanooga and I have heard multiple people from south Pitt to Murfreesboro where I do some business that we have a damn good chance we get gruden and it sure is looking like it!!!!

welcome to the board man. hopefully your first day in VN will be of the same magnitude.

Regarding the TFP article, I believe the words were "look for an article after midnight"... I could be mistaken...

Quote from Volholic, Gruden Thread IX, page 555.

"Here's some info I gathered today:

A friend of mine that works for one of Allan Jones's many businesses in the Cleveland area told me that she was told by her boss that Allan met with Gruden and his Agent yesterday. TIFWIW.

Also, I'm friends with a close associate of South Pittsburg coach Vic Grider. Grider stays in touch with Gruden since they coached together as GAs in the 80s at UT. Apparently, Grider asked Gruden about the UT and his response was that he couldn't talk about it. Again TIFWIW but these are trustworthy people."

New article on TFP about Strong "snubbing us". Not from Stephen Hargis though.

That was the last game I've been in the stadium to see. That game was amazing. I'm hoping to move back up to TN soon so hopefully I can watch some more games.

That was a hell of a first game!

All I know is that, if this all goes down and Hargis is the one to break it, he should get to rub his big titanium set all over Rucker, Hyams, and Hubbs.

Get the dude a promotion.
