This is still possible. I just got a text and I have said all along that Hargis is legit and not a fantasy world guy. I thought if UT did not have a coach this week that Gruden could come back into play. Hart had his chance and I think the boosters will take this back over and hopefully can convince CJG to save the day.

This whole Grider thing also feeds into the story about Gruden having a "plan" to shore up recruiting issues in-state that Dooley was having a hard time with.


This is all adding up a little too perfectly...

Just for any Troll lurkers, notice that when your "coaches" that made "sense" declined to come to the school, we don't go into your threads and bash or make fun. I can honestly tell you from the bottom of my ORANGE heart, that you are the reason our school is not what it was when I attended. Grow up please, you don't have to believe the same way I do or any people on Gruden. You have argued and spat out negative, and down right nasty things, yet you, just like me have NO COACH AS OF YET!!! But your coaches have actually gone on media and declined our school. I know misery loves company, but just a note for you, my coach has never OFFICIALLY declined my school as of yet, so be gracious enough to let him do that first before, you decide to bash me or my Pro Gruden friends. That makes you and your kind exactly what you accuse us as being--DELUSIONAL!!! IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!!

What's so sad is once this all goes down and the OGs are right, we have our coach, the confetti is raining down, and Tennessee once again looks to be truly on the mend... people still will not believe how it went down. You will hear all kinds of stories about backed into a corner, can't believe we paid so much, blah blah blah.

It will totally ruin about 0.0001% of my enjoyment of watching CJG at the press conference. But the taint will still be there.

I don't really claim to be an insider, but I do have several high profile friends. I received an email about 20 minutes ago. I will not post it; if it got back to this individual, he wouldn't appreciate it. But I can confirm this:

Jon Gruden contacted Vic Grider on Tuesday. He left him a voice mail that told Vic "don't believe anything you are hearing, the deal is still in play, and [he] wanted to let Grider know and make sure he was still interested in joining the staff as a HS liason (or something of that nature."

He also went on to state in the email that the staff Gruden is assembling one be "the most unbelievable in CFB history." TIFWIW. I'm sure Y4B, OV or someone else may be able to confirm this. #Gruden!

Y4B said announcement coming on Gruden in 24 hours... others have hinted, but only he says it.

The other exclamations, smiles, etc were is response to them getting same information at same time.

We all think it was the 24hr thing

If anyone has an iPhone I suggest using that. The iPhone interface is quite easy to navigate and I haven't been kicked off in two hours. Flowing quite smoothly, actually.

So Grider knew he this was his last season as a HC anyway? Then, who cares if he resigned today. It doesn't mean anything.

I'm saying a coach with a 162-43 overall record with three state championships and two runner-up finishes, 46 all-state players and 14 Mr. Football finalists would be have all kinds of legitimacy to high school coaches and be received well as an in-state recruiter...something we have sorely lacked in here lately. In other words...yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.
