Plane suspected to have Gruden or his agent or both just landed in Knoxville. No news out of Louisville. The plane is owned by a lesser known UT booster and took off from an airport 20 minutes from Lamontes house in CAli.

Man my wife was in a car wreck today the Tahoe is totaled dam drugs and driver. Now sitting in emergency room she's hooked up to IVs and getting test and bless her hart she asked has Gruden get the job yet. Said all would be fine if Gruden gets hired. Worst 2 weeks of my life.

I've been here since 2004. I've not posted in these endless Gruden threads because it wasn't time to do so yet and waste my time. The time is now approaching. I'm not going to keep reiterating my point but I will say this one more time:

Without question or hesitation I believe Gruden will be announced as the next coach at the University of Tennessee. I will humbly bow out as a Volnation poster forever if Gruden is not the next head coach.

Here's a thought I haven't seen articulated fully here (and if someone else has done so, bravo! This place is nuts and I haven't been able to read every post).

What it Strong HAS been offered? As Assistant Head Coach and DC on Gruden's staff? Face it, kids, even if we get Gruden he is probably too high-energy to sit still at one job for more than a few years, especially once his kids are grown. The NFL WILL come calling again.

So perhaps all of Strong's angst is to take a nominally-lower job but with the understanding that he'd be HC-in-Waiting for the time when JG hears the siren song in a few years?
