Official Jon Gruden Thread XLVIII

If Grude had never been born, then none of these threads would have ever existed and this very question could not be raised. It is like questioning existence itself.

Hyperbole aside, what possible impact would the absence of Gruden have on the possibility of Brohm being offered this job?

Go back to philosophy class with that stuff. We're talking football coaches.

All things that Les has had time to think about, and could likely be forced to address if he were to be hired.

Again, his three wins against Saban out him in an elite group. Nobody else on our list, save one, gives me much hope of getting over that obstacle any time soon. I know the importance Phil places on beating Bama...it's why I don't think any of the B-listers are the way he'll go. None of them look like individuals who can take on Saban, and come out on top.

I get the feeling that Phil is locked in on somebody, and they just don't have a deal yet. Whether that is Gruden or somebody else, who knows?

Let me rephrase that it was a tweet and it was from @volquest1986. Don't know how credible he is but someone else also posted that the team had been called to an 11am meeting. Sorry been following this board for months but don't know how to attach the link from mobile.

I don’t think he’s very credible and personally I have him blocked on twitter. But, who knows?

What happened to Comb??

He threw in the towel after finding out Beav & Bubba weren't being truthful about Gruden once the Shiano news broke.

I'm not sure if he was around in 2012, but it sounds as if he experienced what we did back then the first time. He was all in.

I just saw that! Crazy. Now that is interesting for sure. Here’s another link.

Twitter

Just goes to show you not even the analysts know who is a candidate ,which makes me wonder if we even interviewed them at all....
I believe 100% it's gruden and has only been gruden, you don't just ignore these coaches and let them get hired if you don't have a plan you know will pay off and set the world on fire,if it does indeed happen .

It would certainly be an epic failure. Fulmer isn't going to save our beloved vols with a Currie type hire. He will be remembered by our grandchildren for this hire. Good or bad

& more importantly, to him, HIS grandchildren!! I think we're gonna be fine!

Well then they all mean squat to me

exactly. i've not seen anything yet that links Miles to UCF. now, i could see where that would make sense for both program and coach though, but i haven't seen it.....would be happy to read about it though if it exists.

Catching up this morning. Got a text from a friend of Thunder. Here is the summation. Basically stuff we already know. But relaying the info for confirmation.

Gruden met with TN Sunday.
He has until today to make a decision.
Thunder is pushing Gruden #1 And Miles #2. Both with Tee as OC. HCIW

And when I asked if thunder thought gruden would accept. Here is the response.

"He is unsure. Said that Currie deal had him pretty hot. Now it's more of an image comcern after they turned us into a national **** show."

Like i said, this is third hand info, so TIFWIW

Really? Worried about his image? You either love Tennessee, want to coach here, or you don't.

None of us give a damn about the image. We are proud of what happened last week. We know the truth about what was going on and I'm sure Gruden does too.

That sort of pisses me off... image... really?

My question to all that want Miles.

Who would you rather have on the sidelines Fulmer or Miles?

Who was better, Fulmer or Miles?

Then why do you want Miles?
