I dont believe those dudes even get to pick out what they wear on tv. seems like a lot of people are getting worked up because its been a few days and we havent heard anything, and people are whispering like "Gruden....go crazy....you know you want to....go ahead....Gruden"

If this were the case, ESPN would be promoting an announcement to draw viewers. They wouldn’t just do it out of the blue.

That would be true, if Gruden had already planned to resign. If the reddit poster is to be believed (and I'm a bit skeptical, myself), then Gruden may have just decided today, and there would be no time for promoting.

Absurd argument, IMO. No reason Gruden couldn't notify ESPN prior to tonight's broadcast and ESPN keeping a lid on it. They probably wouldn't want to burn bridges with Gruden, either. They may have already agreed he's to step down because of layoffs.
