Would be fun to watch. Les Miles would not be fun to watch. Let's have fun winning championships.

Agreed.

I think Miles and Tee would be an upgrade from what we had, I'm just not confident in that combo getting us to a championship level.

I havnt read all the posts, but a significant message in Fulmer’s intro speech was, “It’s amazing what can get done when nobody cares who gets the credit!”

Gruden ‘tiL it ain’t!

Yes he will and the fact so many in Vol land would rather have Miles than Kiffin blows my mind. Grude is definitely my first choice but if that doesn't pan out Kiffin would be next in my mind.
I know i'm in the minority but he can win with our team now. If he had left us for any other team but USC I would feel differently..

I can understand giving Kiffin his rightful dues, maybe even going as far as placing his offensively minded fortitude amongst some of the best in the country, but I can't understand wanting him back. It's as though some have completey forgotten about his one year stint, and have convinced themselves it never happened.

Whether USC was his dream job or not, he used UT as a stepping stone, a paycheck and a resumè builder, while he awaited Pete Carroll's departure. And to completey double barrel us, he bolted in the dark of night. Furthermore, his tactics may have changed if he's matured, but he's always one move away from an NCAA investigation. We are a university, not a daycare center, and Kiffin would need oversight to ensure not his protection but UT's.

HOLD UP!!!

Does anyone else think it’s weird that Swain and Ainge both are out “sick” today..? Two VFL’s who are close to Fulmer and have shown interest in being involved in the program... Hmm.

Also, we hired Fulmer after their shows were off the air (sorry, unsure if they have new shows on the weekend or not). I would think they would be chomping at the bits to get on the radio this morning and celebrate.

Hubbs... SIAP

"Fulmer definitely interviewed Chad Morris of SMU last night in Dallas. That's Morris' second interview with Tennessee. His first with Fulmer.

So Fulmer on Sunday traveled from Knoxville to the state of Georgia where he interviewed Auburn DC Kevin Steele, and Georgia DC Mel Tucker. Then he traveled to Texas to see Morris.

We believed his is in Texas this morning and is likely headed to New York City sometime today for the College Football Hall of Fame. There is a dinner with Peyton Manning tonight which includes his family and some key UT people. Then the induction is Tuesday evening.

Remember, lots of coaches attend this event and Fulmer could do more interviews today before heading to NYC and then some up there while in NYC."

According to this, Fulmer is actually going the same route as Currie and Haslam ? Next we will hear that Fulmer out there interviewing Alabama St HC. I am glad that Fulmer took the AD over but I still dont have any confidence that he will bring in a HC that will make the fan base happy. I hope people have not put their protest signs up. Bev and Haslam probably think if they make Fulmer AD then when he hires a nothing of a coach. that the fans would except the hire because Fulmer made the hire.
I am starting to think that us fans are going to be disappointed in the end.

I think Fulmer wants the credit.
I pray he sets ego aside though and hires the best coach they can get. I pray he sets his coaching tendencies aside and hires the best coach they can get. You just can't go conservative this time around. Kiffin was a wild card when he was hired. Yes, it ended badly but there was an energy not seen in a long time. Drooley and Jones were "safe" hires and we see how that worked out.

Time to get hectic. Get the most excitement you can buy.

*NOTE I am NOT endorsing Lane for HC. I think that would be a problem for the program and Lane won't stay long anyway. He's probably gonna be an NFL OC pretty soon.

Grumors from Sunday evening:

- Fulmer in Atlanta then Cinn
- Meeting in Cinn - Gruden, Fulmer and key Boosters
- Meeting COMPLETE
- Fulmer etal leaving Cinn
- Gruden dinner with friends at 6pm
- "dad says we are good to go"

My conclusion: Goodnight MNF, hello Knoxville

Squints - good points, plus I believe some of the boosters who are not named Haslam and are back in prominence have stated "Lane is not welcome on the hill" - I don't think we'll have to debate whether or not he might be a fit, they don't want him and that's probably the final say

We will know if tomorrow Ainge comes back and says something like, "You know guys, maybe there is a chance with Gruden."

Trying to apply logic to this coaching hire is like trying to apply eyeliner to Ape....it's extremely difficult and the results not very pretty.

Logic usually wins in the end however, and logic points to Gruden...soon.

I like the way you talk

This is my first post so y’all don’t know me but I’ve been on this thread for well over a month and the site for about a year so, I feel like I know some of you. I had major log in problems and finally got access this morning. Thanks Freak for sorting it out.
I just wanted to say a few things (had to store it all up):

GrandVol your morning posts are epic. I look forward to them every day.

Atlanta Vol (if you are still around and reading), I was really touched by your generous action with the tickets. It’s not something I would have been eligible for but it made me swell with pride knowing there are people like you out there.

Beaver, I love your passion. No idea if your info is accurate or not, but it’s been entertaining for sure.
I know a few people (not going to call them all out here) that have expressed family illness and loss. For what it’s worth, I felt compelled to pray for you each time a read such a post.

Mrmax86, thanks for keeping it all sorted out with the daily post.

Dudleys87, jakez4ut, NickZ4UT, VolInNorthCack and others: I hate I missed out on all the Charlotte chatter. I wanted to chime in several times. I live very very close to OMB. I hope to run into you soon.

So much I’ve wanted to say over the past few months and people I want to (positively) call out, but I will keep this semi-short and look forward to contributing in the future.

Lastly, Gruden until it’s not. Soon!

Welcome aboard.

I have said this before. Kiffin NEEDS a strong presence around him, like he had with Saban. Without that, he's too immature to lead a big program. Kiffin can call plays like a dang wizard, but I think he would be trouble.
