poppaT, you kinda lost me. were you just getting my attention by responding to a random post? cause i don't see the connection between what i responded to and what you posted.

help?

It was in response to your post waiting for Sugarland's email. Sugarland is the one who sent pix of Gruden @ the Cincy Restaurant.

Sorry if I confused.

This thread moves fast but rumors from knuck, exile, and others stated that the meeting had already concluded much earlier in the day. Hard for some folks to keep up when there's momentum.

Maybe they are throwing Les's name out there as a PR move to get the University back in the news in a good light and help show the naysayers that "Hey, look, a National Championship coach wants this job. UT is top tier!! All you "journalists" can EOBAD!!!" So then Gruden doesn't have to step into a (BS media-driven) dumpster fire.

But also, if Gruden says no, you actually have a SECC and NC coach as Plan B who's willing to take less money to bring in a heck of a staff.

Those saying "I'm out" if Les is hired with a VFL staff are borderline mentally disabled.

IDK what's the obsession with Tee. Sure, he's one of the best recruiters in the business but he doesn't coach QB's or call the plays at USC. Its seems to me that he's a liability as an OC.

UT needs a OC that calls the offensive plays and coaches the QB's.

I read somewhere that Tee calls plays except on 3rd down when a pass play is needed. tifwiw

And what link do you have saying Tee doesn't call plays?

I think I read a few weeks ago I'm not sure where, that Cindy Gruden and Phils wife were in dollywood partying like it was 1999. Eating funnel cakes and drinking orange crush. Hope they bonded.
I hate that dam river rampage.

no, no, no, don't leave. we like you here. we just get overly excited sometimes. you know this. stay .... hang out ... post ... share.

:eek:k:

I agree SLV...We're all pent up on jet fuelled love for our program and we tend to get carried away...although tomorrow starts another work week I'm sure someone in here is getting plastered later on so it should be a blasty blast.
😎

I asked him again for more detail, and he said he would confirm for me and give me the 100% in the morning. But as of the last meeting and trips his dad was taking and initial talks, he said they were good to go.

Jon Gruden stated on the Rich Eisen show that he misses coaching and if the right opportunity opened up he would most certainly be interested.
His middle son is enrolled here at UT.
I believe he wants to join an elite group of coaches with a NC and SB victory. JJ, Switzer, and Carroll. But would be the only one of the 4 to get a SB first then win the Natty. Name a championship coach to retire early and never return to coaching. There is only one ever and he is a legend. MADDEN. Gruden isn't a legend yet but UT is primed to be elite again and get a NC. He would certainly be near or at the top of that list. Do championship coaches look for the next challenge. I think so, and Gruden is ready too. Ready to lead the Vols back to its proud place at the top. He knows how passionate this fan base is and how we will be backing him 100k strong every game in Neyland. If he loves Rocky Top like he said he did in Seattle, as soon as he watches #ComeTogether he will want to lead us to the promised land once again. GRUDEN TO THE HILL GRUDES! VERY SOON!
