Because hes done what the guys record is just 20 games over 500 in a 17-20 year period. Dayum what are we willing to settle for hes never won a conference title in lesser conference. Never been in a pressure cooker conferenceWhy in the world?
I realize it sucks but this is the best hire we've potentially had in the works out of this s*** show. Sooner fans still love the guy, Lincoln Riley is a Leach disciple and Oklahoma doesn't look too shabby. He's got a solid D at Washington State in a typically offensive driven conference....and he develops QBs like Spurrier..
Who in the hell (besides Gruden) do you folks want?
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobbled stone
Neath the halo of an old street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp.
When my eyes were stabbed
By the flash of a neon light
That split the night.
And touched the sound of silence.
Soon.
Candidate A: Overall HC winning record is 0.557. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.000. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 13.
Candidate B: Overall HC winning record is 0.541. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.556. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 5.
Candidate C: Overall HC winning record is 0.719. Overall HC winning record in championships/playoffs is 0.571. Overall championships this candidate has been associated with at any coaching type position is 13.
Jimmy DA Hyams on Nashville radio blaming fans saying nobody wants job because of fans. What an a$$hole!
Its not about a coach. Its about the people running the show. Much like Tee Leach would be snake bit the minute he steps on campus. If and i use that word loosely they got him to walk the line hed be fired the minute he stepped off the path. Tennessee needs to get rid of the cancer st the top and coaches will flock to UT.
Leach wouldnt be a bad hire. But the pattern of Schiano to Gundy to Brohm to Doeren to Sumlin makes zero sense. Think hes throwing a dart at a list of coaches? Honestly. Its madness.
Why in the world?

How does Candidate B have only 5 championship games, but a championship winning percentage of 55.6%? With only 5 games in his resume, his winning percentage would forcibly be 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, or 100%. So how did you come up with 55.6%?
Didn't check any of the rest of your figures, because that one leapt out at me.
Have done a little digging and came up with some information.
Disclaimer: I selectively and arbitrarily identified categories to pull information from regarding candidates (at least my top three). It is based solely on a numbers game. I did not include character issues, overall win/lose in any position other than as a HC. However, I did try to as accurately reflect if the candidate had been in any capacity associated with a part of ANY type of championship team, including Superbowl, College National Champs, or Divisional/Conference champs. Below are the unofficial results:
All of the above candidates have some type of coaching related NFL experience. All are familiar with the SEC. So, while I would be happy with any of them, who would you all select?
Again, I have tried to as accurately represent this information but I could have missed a championship here or there. Keep in mind, championships include conference titles, divisional titles, etc. while the candidate was affiliated with that team, either as a HC or some other (non-player) capacity.
