I posted on another thread that although ideally Currie and Haslam would be gone before hiring, Leach is a coach who I could see standing up to them for control of his program and making his views of their ways very, very public. :pepper::pepper:

--edit to add: sort of like opening up a second front against the HoH: fans on the original front, a highly vocal and damn-near-uncontrollable coach on another.

We might need this, you know.

Checked Twitter this morning. 10 to 1 on YAY, Mike Leach/Happy Vol Fans/Currie may proceed and fans actually staying the course of fire before hire. Grand HOH scheme is working and I am disappointed. :fool:

I actually don't think Leach is a coach that is high on the HoH list. He is his own man, and I don't see him putting up with much of their BS.

My bio on VN used to say one word...Leaches. I used to love this guy, but I think this hire is 5 years too late.

It doesn't matter to me right now. I can't get excited about any candidate if Currie and Haslam are still involved. Yell at me if you want, but as much as I like Leach, he isn't the solution until the Puppet Master and his Minions are eliminated.

I don't think it matters where he is on the HoH list. If Currie is still AD then everything stays the same. Currie MUST be fired before we hire. Period.

Good morning everyone... I don’t want the crazy weirdo Leach here... I can’t even fathom his face on the Jumbotron... that being said, I don’t believe it’ll go through... we can continue emailing and calling and tweeting but we’re going to need Joe and Bev to pull the trigger this time... I don’t know if Leach really wants the gauntlet of the SEC either. I’m actually confident he will turn this down if offered because he cannot be controlled. Just a feeling though...

Yep, all level 3.

The Schnauzer was amazing, was an absolute hoss and the best house dog imaginable. On the field he was a controlled animal assassin!

The Black Russian is kind of dopey and too big I think, but, is a lover.

We may be the ones who do not show up at the alter. If Currie is walking Leach down the isle with Haslam sitting in the front row with that sh1t eating grin, I say we should sneak out the back door. Now if Fulmer walks him down the isle, I'll be the first one throwing rice. It's not about Leach.

I really want to get a shepard one day but the hair really gets me and I still am not sure I want to deal with it. But man I love them.

The schnauzer shed and it was semi bad, any more and I don't think the intakes in the house could handle that!

I think what's lacking for a huge majority of posters is "context."

So often people just look at a number or record and base their opinion on that alone without looking at the context of the situation. What was Wash. State's record the 5 years prior to his arrival? 14-47.

This is Washington St. we're talking about. I don't know if he's a good fit for UT but all too often a coach is dismissed based on the wrong reasons.

Another case in point, Kevin Steele was set to become UT's DC back in '12 until Clemson gave up 70 points in a bowl game. So based on that 1 game, we wound up with Sal Sunseri.

1 game should not be used to make a decision (good or bad) and sometimes the numbers don't tell the entire story.

We have different Twitter circles then because that’s not what these eyes are seeing. I’m seeing the same frustrated fandom as always as well as an awakening media that we were right to be angry after all. Appreciate your post but I sure hope as heck hope that I’m right.

Amazing! Our female is the dopey one but she’ll show up if there’s problems. Just basic manners training for her. She had a hard life before she came to us.

Our male is ridiculous with prey drive. We’re beginning protection classes with him soon. He has the most solid nerves I’ve ever seen. Both are great family members.

I don't think anyone is high on that list, judging from the names that have come up through the search. But its a coach that this "crazy, out of control" fan base will back and take the heat off our actual cause of outrage within VN. Id love to see someone stand up to the UTAD in that position, but Id rather it be someone that never says never to nothing. :)

Leach is not going to be a yes man to Haslam. I think he’s a solid hire and if he was the first candidate, I’d be ok. However, Leach is not going to cut the mustard after this week.

That said, if Currie wasn’t able to get a hall pass from Bev on Brohm, and wasn’t able to reel in Doeren, the chances of him landing a marlin like Leach are zero. Leach will play along, make fun of him, and use him as a punchline.
