That is the statement his agent used to protect the Gruden brand. When Gruden - himself - finally talked about it publicly he simply said the timing wasn't right. Big difference.

I've missed my anniversary, kids birthday, pretty sure I've been fired.. I requested soap on this thread a month and a half ago.. No luck.. All for this insanely addicting gruden talk

Oh sure, you're absolutely right. Never thought of those in the same vein as buyout clauses, but they pretty much are. Just much smaller in $$ (unless any of yours came in the $millions ... I sure know the early retirement packages we saw in the military in the late '90s were a pittance in comparison).

right. and you didn't ask me those things to try to figure out who I am. ok. look, we'll all be in a much better mood whenever this finally happens. i'm getting testy. i might need to get out for a bit tonight. maybe i'll go hit my local bar and have a few coldies and hope for the news to break
