Yeah. You’re probably right. It’s just that no matter how WRONG we think his decisions have been or how inept he appears to be, he’s still a man with a family who has probably been between a rock and a hard place the whole time he has been here. I hope he resigns and goes quietly to do something that works out better for him and his family.

He will go kicking and screaming for 5 million. I think he thinks Haslam will save him. My money is on he is somewhere doing something sneaky and I pray that I’m not right.

He is maintaining his control because the 26 members of the Board are his buddies. The chairman is his brother the Governor. 21 of the other members have been selected by the Governor, 3 of the 4 members that aren't the Governor or his appointments effectively report to the Governor for their day job, and the final member is the President who is on the Board but also serves at its direction. The fix isn't just by personality. This thing doesn't swing against the Haslams.

Regarding the other boosters, see above. Boosters don't have direct authority over the University. The deck is so stacked its shocking this thing has been stopped. Without the Politicians getting involved this thing would already have been over.

This thing doesn't turn until Bill turns on Jimmy. It literally will take brother against brother to end the way the fans and other boosters want. You want to make an impact? Don't boycott Pilot, where Jimmy won't notice or care. Call Bill Haslam's office and tell him you'll never vote for him for Senator. That's the route to pressure left. Senator is popularly elected by Tennessean's. He probably can win it after this, but it takes it from his for the taking to a risk. Bill Haslam is generally risk averse. Jimmy's the bull in the china shop.

BOT follows the money - turn it off - make it stand - leak information and the tide would turn - the other boosters aren't playing dirty like HOH and Currie - until they do nothing will change.

If the rumor about Tee Martin being on Gruden's staff are true and that he has been contacted already for the position, then why would he take the HC job if it is offered? Several people have pointed out that he has not been offered, but if he is and does not accept, it may be a clue to what we have previously heard from multiple sources.

Turns out Currie WAS talking to Gruden, and the money was what was getting in the way. Currie resolved to go and hire Schiano, and after what happened with the fan base, well he knows he's in deep dookie. The Haslems also realize how unpopular a decision it was and now everyone is apparently backpedaling. So they're talking to Gruden again, and the boosters are willing to get the money together and just pony up. I'm told by TWO trusted sources, it's all but a done deal. VOL NATION HAS SPOKEN AND OUR VOICES WERE HEARD!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited!!! If you ask me, Currie is still a little weasel, but whatever, We'll take it. Sorry I had to log in under a pseudonymdonym, I don't want to be the guy who leaked it, but we fans have been through so much trauma already, I couldn't NOT share this with my VOL brethren! The failure falls in the fact he never had a back-up plan. He simply took for granted the GS hire would go straight on thru and leave us all helpless.

I truly don't know how we stood with JG prior to this GS blunder but if he's still in play undoubtedly his price will be even higher. He won't even like being around Currie I'm sure.
