That is kind of my point- if it's a given the Currie will be replaced at some point, and we all know or suspect who his replacement will be, then who is doing the interviews that you reference?

Oh, I know that. But at this point, why not just put the University on the hook for it. You already out the 5 million if you keep him and have neutered him. You're just out the 5 million and hamstring your program.

If we get Gruden, we wouldn't have to worry about paying a coach's buyout. So, win-win. $5 million would be well worth it and you would definitely get that back in the long-run.

If that is true, Bev has been unfairly cursed by many. Myself included. I don't understand why Currie still has a job though if that is the case.

Because the dumbing down and pussification of our country has led to so many needless obstacles that hinder common sense corrections and plans of action in lieu of needing "protection" which takes precedence.

According to the By-Laws, the only people who can kick out the Chairman of the Board (currently Governor Haslam) are...the members of the Board. Not to impeach him as Governor, just to remove him as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

They'd have to collectively rise up against him.

Maybe that's part of what the crew like Atlanta Vol have been working on...and why they need our fan-based public pressure to stay high to help them convince sitting board members to join in.

I certainly don’t claim to know for a fact however it has been stated here and other places that several members of the BOT are very close to the Haslams

There isn't one. The Head BOT is the governor. Haslam's been a good Governor for the state. He won't be thrown out over this.

Not defending the Haslam's. Just pointing out there is no scenario where the Head BOT Member is not a Haslam until Bill Haslam's term expires.

Force him to resign and UT is out nothing. If he isn’t able to do his job (hire an acceptable coach), fired for cause (this takes a little longer) - UT is out nothing... that’s a couple of assistants’ salary. Chancellor Davenport has to weigh the risks vs. the benefit.
