I'll post again, Sumlin not in play but will be mentioned.

Sumlins buyout says he gets 10.4M paid in full within 60 days. There's no offset language so he can take a coaching job and he still gets all of the 10.4M.

The stones on that guy lol That's not a very smart move especially win Bill is not going to be Governor, these people will remember this.

Considering he had damning evidence of his alleged knowledge and alleged participation in the Pilot Rebate Fraud presented in Federal Court this WEEK against him, its beyond stones if true. Its narcissism of the highest order.

I think it is true too. At this point, it fits with everything else. That combined with Travis's reports have all been highly accurate then corroborated by other reports from different sources.

SPECULATION:

DiPietro will not sign off on any new hire by Currie.

Currie will be allowed to flail around for maybe 2 more leaked coach names. Assisted career suicide.

Currie will be fired.

New AD will be appointed RAPIDLY.

Coaching search reset: hire the BEST, who has NOT SAID NO.

Who are a few TN state reps? I’d like to tweet a couple of them and ask them if this is true. If they tell me it’s true, I’ll send it on over to Rucker, Price, Brice, and Hubbs.

I have not been told that by anyone I trust. Also I don’t think he would want to be here. Also the Ex Ark coach thing doesn’t seem credible. He can just sit back and get fatter without doing anything for years.

He might be a big guy but his wife is a smoke show man

I’m told Browns owner, and Tennessee booster, Jimmy Haslam, has been personally calling members of the Tennessee legislature who were critical of Schiano hire and telling them: “You don’t make the Tennessee hire, we do.”

Odd, I thought Bill told us Jimmy had nothing to do with Schiano. Conflicts of interest?? Nah.

What the people in here need to be doing that knows the rules or know how this **** works need to figure out a emergency tactic that's in the UT book that over throws the Head BOT member and put that into full effect

According to the By-Laws, the only people who can kick out the Chairman of the Board (currently Governor Haslam) are...the members of the Board. Not to impeach him as Governor, just to remove him as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

They'd have to collectively rise up against him.

Maybe that's part of what the crew like Atlanta Vol have been working on...and why they need our fan-based public pressure to stay high to help them convince sitting board members to join in.

Just a guess.

And the man keeps tightening the noose all by himself, no executioner needed.

I would offer you a beer, but I can't drink.

here is your/our problem. if they can make a respectable hire that most vol fans could get behind, they (fans) will get behind it, because of our love for UT. if y'all can't get currie out before they make a decent hire (brohm sumlin type) then you can forget it.

not against you. i'm for you. i've sent numerous emails and made calls myself. singed petitions. the whole shabang.

just sayin' ...

I was willing to support the Brohm hire. Not so much on the others especially GS. The major mistake and reason Currie should be terminated is because he knew,(likely after UGA), it was time for a coaching change. He has done ,in all that time, absolutely nothing. It's reported that Mullen anticipated talking to UT for 2 days and nothing there either. Due to this there is no way possible that Currie should retain his position at UT. Further as for his buyout there very well may be reason to terminate "with cause."

Going to the Bahamas when there was more pressing work to be done is negligent. Even if he thought Schiano hire would be accepted, the wise thing to do was to have a back-up plan in place just in case a coach backs out at the last minute and that happens quite frequently. Ask me how I know.

There isn't one. The Head BOT is the governor. Haslam's been a good Governor for the state. He won't be thrown out over this.

Not defending the Haslam's. Just pointing out there is no scenario where the Head BOT Member is not a Haslam until Bill Haslam's term expires.

I don’t remember who but someone posted something along these lines yesterday/last night

He was being cryptic so no names would get out there

That's a really good question.

Some of the board memberships come with other positions: for instance, the Governor of the State of Tennessee and President of the University are both ex officio voting members. Others are selected, such as two faculty members and two university students. All the rest are appointed.

But selected and appointed by whom? The Governor's office?

I couldn't find the answer to that question anywhere in the by-laws of the BoT: Bylaws – UT Board of Trustees

Anyone know?

(sorry if answer already posted, I'm probably about 2 pages behind catching up)

The 21 at large members of the BOT are appointed by the Governor.
