Yeah. That was a stupid comment. I can be really stupid sometimes, but this one is cause I’m so mad and hurt about Peyton. I remember thinking how lucky we were for having Peyton freaking Manning involved in our coaching search.

If you're dumb because of that one dumb post, hes dumb too.

Interesting news from Basilio in a different thread: he is saying Currie has been told that if he doesn't have a coach by this evening he's out as AD.

Which means he's gone since supposedly Davenport said she would not sign anything that Currie proposed other than his resignation or something like that.

Just sent in my letter...

Madam Chancellor,

I write this today knowing you've likely received thousands of emails already, but felt it was my time to speak my mind after last night's events at Thompson-Bowling Arena. I am retired military law enforcement and have started a second career as event staffing management upon retiring from the military. I've carried the Power T brand into places you couldn't possibly imagine in my lifetime and have always been a steadfast supporter of the University of Tennessee through thick and thin. However...

Last night I saw the video of the student being ejected from TBA during the men's basketball game. While I can always look at these things objectively and realize not ever fact can be known via a short video, what I saw appalled me. There are ways of dealing with an intoxicated and disruptive individual and slamming one to the concrete was certainly not the way to handle business. As a former law enforcement professional, the actions of the officer(s) in TBA last night crossed a line which, given our current climate concerning law enforcement, did NOT need to be crossed. Those students were simply speaking their minds and could have been reasoned with far easier than excessive force or threats of revoking the tickets. However, it escalated to unacceptable levels almost immediately and cannot be defended by you or any member of the law enforcement community there that evening.

But one must ask the question of "why" this all happened. And the evidence has pointed and will continue to point to the current mayhem enveloping the Athletic Department and a single person, Athletic Director John Currie. In 24 hours, four potential head football coaches were contacted and at least three turned down our offers. At some point, AD Currie, and by proxy yourself, have to look at the big picture and realize "it's not them, it's us." The man is now as toxic as any AD I've ever seen or heard of. His attempted sneaking in of Coordinator Greg Schiano was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back after ten long years of questionable hires and sub par seasons for what was once a proud institution of athletics AND academics.

Madam Chancellor, we are a blue blood of collegiate institutions. Not only have we pioneered athletics like women's basketball into a mainstream sport, we have been an institution of respected higher learning and research for decades. But this is quickly coming to an end by the actions of one man. Director Currie is destroying a proud heritage through ineptitude and incompetence as each and every minute passes and he is allowed to remain in his current position. He cannot and should not be allowed to continue in a job where he is currently displaying zero competence and a decided lack of leadership. But with your inaction on that front, it is tacit approval for him to continue decimating our standing, and in turn, the public perception of this proud institution of higher learning in everyone's eyes.

Your fans, alumni and many of your boosters are tired of not having their voices heard. The lifeblood of your University is quickly drying up as each day passes as more and more individuals are not renewing season tickets, not giving donations and cutting off support. Your students are invoking their Right to free speech, only to have it suppressed through violence and excessive force. Your profile on the UT webpage states: "There is something special here about that great sense of pride in this institution and its traditions." Give us back our pride, Madam Chancellor. Give us back that ability to feel special by removing Director Currie and starting over with a "clean slate." Put us back on a path to regain our rightful place as not only a school with a proud athletic tradition, but one where all individuals who sport the Power T are proud to say "this is my school and I'm not afraid to show my association and support."

I thank you for your time,

So is it worth bringing up why not a single African American (no matter who it is would be a better choice than Schiano or Doeren) has been interviewed? Taggart, Strong, Sumlin, Tee would all be better choices.

And I'm not trying to get political or PC or anything like that. I think it would be a fair question to Currie and the Administration.

Interesting news from Basilio in a different thread: he is saying Currie has been told that if he doesn't have a coach by this evening he's out as AD.

“I’m happy to present Neal Brown as your head football coach of The Tennessse Volunteers”

Explosive and expensive hire. Expensive meaning we over paid for a lower tier coach

While Gruden shouldn't be our focus right now, only getting Currie out, anyone saying it is dead needs to show me a statement from Bob Lamonte. I can show you one from 2012.

Obviously that's what I believe. If that is the case, shouldn't they boot him?

The entire Haslam family should be cut off. We all can see they are only looking to have complete control.

If nothing else UT needs to cut off any connection because of the possibility (probability) that the huge donations coming from the Haslams are dirty money gained through fraud. I am not a legal expert but wouldn't that sort of be money laundering?

Seeing this confirmed by them makes me even more irate. How? How? How could this happen?

Maybe the tide has turned, and the battle thought lost was actually over before it got off the ground Sunday even though didn't take shape until yesterday. Maybe deerhunter is on to something?
