Why is Joe/Bev still allowing Currie to conduct a search? Why on earth would they think that Doeren would be a good fit here? And why would any coach want to come here right now knowing you're working for a lame duck AD.

$$. Someone will take this job and be a yes man for $$.

Can't help but think Bev has to be absolutely overwhelmed by all of this. Billion dollar supporters fighting for influence over your university? I'd have trouble sleeping. Hopefully she's level headed enough not to rush into anything other than getting rid of Currie.

I think they want to keep him as far away from campus as possible. If he wasn't "involved" in an around the clock coaching search, people would be asking why he is hiding out and making no statements.

It's just their way of dealing with him until he is let go.....I hope.

They allow him to continue to do his "job" while allowing this to play out, they can, and did, deny his offer.
Why would anyone think delorean is a good hire, it is more laughable for the media to ask this as well as they said huh....really, this....mediocre.....well keep allowing the unprepared and over matched Currie with more ammo for his ineptness with suggesting such a hire......further moving the needle for the good side and Davenport and Dipietro, as we see the clusterf*** Currie is and is continuing to demonstrate.

Lame duck damn right, just more assurance that the powers that be are slowly getting ready to cut off the ducks head.

Only way any of this makes sense....Currie and everyone in with Haslam are out and Gruden is trotted out....it would be unreal.

Morning all. I was wondering something as I drove to work this morning. How do we support the kids out there busting it playing football, basketball, etc but still shun the university? By listening on the radio? By going to the Vol walk and giving encouragement then staying outside? I really don't know. But the athletes don't deserve to be shunned just because administration is garbage.

Don't worry. Most of them will leave with a terrible hire.

Interesting news from Basilio in a different thread: he is saying Currie has been told that if he doesn't have a coach by this evening he's out as AD.

This seems to contradict what JAV has said in the past, is his source lying now or was he lying then. Or has his source changed. This also does not line up with what Atlanta Vol said, AV was pretty confident after Wednesday/Thursday night in Tampa.
Maybe I'm misremembering.

It wasn't just JAV. It was also BlackJack who JAV has admitted is more connected that he is.

Social media

It's a direct line to the players without supporting the University/Athletic Department.

Some on here will say that grown adults shouldn't be following college players/students on social media but if you want to show them your support without having to support this piss poor administration, that's how you do it.

Congratulate them on a good win, if they get beat support them with some encouraging words.

Social media is the key for this

If they're with the good guys now, or just looking to cya, it's enough rope to hang himself

Maybe, but she got the job from U.C.

From people I have talked with she is apolitical tigress, plays the game and does all that you need in these pc times but she knows how to play.

Anyone coming into this job or any job of any high profile company or otherwise will have their own agenda.

That agenda will mesh with the existing powers that be, thus the hiring. But, when hired you begin to see in action and work who you might need to be considerate of in terms of allegiance first, and alliance second.

This person can not truly pick a side for self preservation, they play both sides subtly, quietly, and say little and do less.

Once the power struggle ensues, then, according to the new hire's objectives and agenda will pick the side that begins to show it is winning before it wins.

Alignment and trust come into play now, and now this hire must demonstrate the ability to make decisions that favor the winning side.

So they turned away Doreen?

I compare this to a bitter divorce with a small child in the middle. Nobody wins, you just hope to survive and that the damage can be healed over time. It seems that it is all about power, and not at all about doing what is actually best for the University.
