A week ago we were for most part excited that a new coach was about to happen. There is not a soul on earth that would have predicted the worst coaching search in the history of time. This is unbelievable

It's being sorted out.AV has told us what he knew about the attempted GS hire. Too many people getting over-emotional, depressed, and untrusting. There's enough stand-up boosters to challenge Haslam and that's before you even include the fanbase. Big Jim is out-gunned and people are tired of it. Currie has attempted 3 hires to our knowledge since Sunday. He's not gonna pull a rabbit out of a hat without resistance. Stay the course with the e-mails and phone calls and be at gate 21 Sat. Anything to make Joe and Bev slow down. You start talking about Doeren....there are many of his equals out there. I just ask that we have faith in those attempting to do the right thing.

Regardless of whether stand-up boosters have had enough Currie and Haslam are still pushing forward with these attempted hires...... They are undeterred so obviously the stand-up boosters have little affect on Haslam and Currie..... Eventually one of these undesirable coaches is going to ink the deal.....

Haslam and Currie are undaunted - they are running headlong into these bad coaches with glee - they are trying their damndest to give the other boosters and fans a the dirty sanchez.

All these news reports on the coaching search are keeping the Pilot Flying J lawsuit buried in the news. If that trial goes badly there is the possibility that Haslam could lose his NFL franchise.

This is war boys and girls and HOH is winning - if he and Currie make enough offers then one of the schleps is going to ink a deal and our football program will die!

i didn’t attend a game this year for the first time in a decade. May have to keep this going until Currie and Haslam have no say.

From what Im starting to gather when Currie need donations for the renovations Currie went to Haslam for the money. Haslam says I'll get the money. He then promises to all the other boosters that if they pay for the stadium renovations then he will help pay for a big time coach. After the money was raised he told his guy Currie to get the coach he wanted and said screw everyone else. After the fans revolted Currie hasn't made any real attempts because he is trying to get a guy worse than Schiano so Haslam can say he wasn't his guy. Right now it's a huge power struggle and the only way to end it favorably is to cut the head off the snake and get rid of the haslams

I am really worried lame duck Currie is going to hire Doeren tonight while everyone is asleep. I wish there was something to do to stop it. It shouldn't be unrealistic for fans to want the hire to be a decent coach who is a decent person. Doeren is neither.

Vol fans, I have some news you're going to love. Just wait, you'll see i'm telling the truth. I have logged in under a pseudonym because I was told about the University's plan in confidence. I promised I would not tell. My childhood best friend is an insider the Haslem camp, and my wife's sister works in the athletic department, and I have been told by BOTh parties, unbeknownst to one another, about this: so here's the scoop:

You're new coach is in fact, JOHN GRUDEN!!! Yes, you heard it here folks, JOHN GRUDEN will be named the Vols new coach by the end of the week, barring another crazy snafu. Turns out Currie WAS talking to Gruden, and the money was what was getting in the way. Currie resolved to go and hire Schiano, and after what happened with the fan base, well he knows he's in deep dookie. The Haslems also realize how unpopular a decision it was and now everyone is apparently backpedaling. So they're talking to Gruden again, and the boosters are willing to get the money together and just pony up. I'm told by TWO trusted sources, it's all but a done deal. VOL NATION HAS SPOKEN AND OUR VOICES WERE HEARD!!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited!!! If you ask me, Currie is still a little weasel, but whatever, We'll take it. Sorry I had to log in under a pseudonymdonym, I don't want to be the guy who leaked it, but we fans have been through so much trauma already, I couldn't NOT share this with my VOL brethren! Here's to Gruden in Knoxville!!!!

It's puff, puff, pass dude.

JAV and Blackjack999 are spilling the beans and answering all questions on 247. Summary:
Gruden did not sign a MOU. Boosters, led by Anderson and made several offers to Gruden, but he had not accepted them. They were going to meet with him on Sunday and make a formal offer, including a very "Orange staff", but the Schiano news came out. "That ship has not only sailed, it's sunk". Mullen was never contacted by UT. Mullen contacted UT twice and was told they would talk to him after Egg Bowl. Mullen waited 2 days after the Egg Bowl and never received a call from UT. Only then, he went to UF. Blackjack: "Never seen such a sheering of sheep." Schiano was Currie's guy all along. Lied to boosters and thought he could sneak him in the back door, but donor revolt stopped it. Don't think a formal offer from AD was made to anyone other than Schiano. Called Peterson twice, but made no offer. If Doeren is hired, nuclear option--"Their masks will be removed".

Nuclear option - masks removed???

By then it will be too late and the football program will die on the vine.

The nuclear option needs to be employed now and masks removed before its too late!!!

On knoxville radio, they said sexton brought the following to UT

Hc-lane
Oc-martin
Dc-steele

But of course dumba$$es turned it down

Donte stallworth said this was true as well

If this is the case, I think it is a deliberate sabatoge of our program

So Beav, Bubba, Dto, Boro, exile etc were getting pretty good info the entire time.

I would bet that there are people up trying to stop it also. If they follow through and hire Dorean now they will have to EAT a lot of money over time. And eventually the media will turn on them. It seems like Haslam continues to double down on stupid. If there was a national debate you could make Haslam look stupid in minutes just by asking him about some of the decisions his has made with the Browns and the Vols. Why Tennessee cannot figure out that for the future they have to distance theirselves from letting Haslam decide everything. The truth is that is way we are a laughingstock. Coaches don't want to have to work under them, and who can blame them. WAKE UP TENNESSEE!

They've lost. Nuclear option has been implemented by other boosters. Unfortunately, they took their toll on the fan base and the University. Donations are going to be withheld. Season ticket sales will decline. And, in all likelihood, baring a miracle, it will take years for the football program to recover. We are at the low point right now. Barring a miracle hire, I'll no longer be a UT football fan. I just can't take another 5 years of an underperforming dismal football program, hoping we might beat Vandy and UK. Just not gonna do it. I'm sick about it.
