I'm told by en of week. This will be the most lucrative coaching deal in sports. I wasn't given a number but told it's high. "Insanely high" was the exact phrase from one person. I'm told that's why they originally walked away from the deal. They felt they were too far apart. They're not going to go off half cocked again. It would literally mean their jobs, or heads. I can't ever remember this place being such a grammar police state. I know you're all anxious. Oh well, we shall rise again. :clapping:
This will be my only post tonight because I gotta get ready for travel. I just wanted to say that you guys are awesome and keep up the good work. Keep your foot on the gas and don't let up, not even for a second! It's making more of an impact than you know!

Just spoke to my source, the Doeran rumor is not true. Phew, I was almost thinking I would have to eat some serious crow. I don't even know if I would survive a disappointment that big, after letting go of Gruden, then being told he's really coming after all. It's like being told you'll get switches and ashes, and actually getting a new bike on ChristmasFrom TOS

New Obviously, I am a member of both! Hoping Doeren stays in Raleigh, because he will not cut it in Knoxville!
Update (10:30 p.m.)
There were rumors that head coach Dave Doeren was supposed to join assistant coach Des Kitchings at Ricky Person's for an in-home visit tonight but instead it was just Kitchings. Take that FWIW.
Another source has heard that Doeren may have met with UT tonight but again that is not confirmed. It would match what one other source told us after this original post.
A little bit of clarification (which may actually add to some of the confusion to be honest).
We have heard now that NC State is willing to go one year added onto the already automatic extension to 2020, meaning he would be under contract until 2021. Doeren may be seeking an overall extension that pushes out five years to 2022.
There are also rumors of a pretty extensive raise being offered plus additional compensation for the assistant coaches. That said, the dollar figures being reportedly thrown around by Tennessee would still be substantially above what NCSU probably can go by $1-plus million.
