And now Im this guy, but what revjayp says about Morris and his interest I will stand behind. I have been hinting ever so slightly that this is an extremely credible deal. The person I know told me the Gundy deal was funded by Haslam (may or may not be true). However, Morris and a large majority of his staff are ready to move if he gets a serious offer.
I don't know who you are but the false hope you are so carelessly projecting is disrespectful to this community. Your efforts of drawing back the curtain, have gone a long way, and myself, as well as everyone else in the community appreciates it; however, the statement/claim you make here couldn't be further from the truth.
1000x yes! He's obviously banking on Gruden saying something on the Golic show because this is the first interview since Seattle. And, looking back on history, Golic's not afraid to ask the question. His response will be the same it's always been.
Look at his statement. Notice how it gives him an out...

Someone posted in the Morris isnt coming here thread that someone on TOS said Morris accepted the position a little over a hour ago...
In the perfect world right now Haslam would give the okay to go get whomever and he get the credit and then announce that he will not be involving himself in the operations of UT any longer except if wantz to donate without demands. He could be hailed as a hero. Then Fire Currie and hire Blackburn. Tell Davenport to get on board with a new better way of doing things for everyones benefit academically and athletically. Slowly the remaining moles that have been a hindrance can either get on board or slowly get pushed out.
the issue with this scenario is that he would have to admit he made a mistake. people like haslam never admit mistakes even when they're caught red handed. they will deny, deflect, and continue on as usual.
edit: I know you said perfect world. sorry. just venting.
