I wouldn't say that as a certainty.

I’m not, that’s just what I’ve specifically been told. I was hoping they would say Currie being fired tomorrow would open the door for Grude announcement before the SEC game. If anything this just adds more to the situation. But hopefully it pans out

I have a direct first hand contact in the President's office. I asked this precise question about whose side the Prez is on and he said he's not even sure.

I get the sense that everyone has been so blown away by all this nobody knows what to do.

This is what happens when people who aren't leaders are put in leadership positions.

Where is Doug Dickey? He would have told Haslem to have a Coke and a smile and STFU.

Enough of this Gruden thread.

It will never happen.

Let's get this off the top of the board please.

Except that logic doesn't explain Schiano. That one wasn't good for anyone. Maybe Gundy/Brohm/Doeren, but not Schiano.

Either he was curries and Haslams guy and gruden was everyone else's and they went behind everyone's back or they didn't think he would flop as big as they did. Currie mightve been getting him good publicity for the interview with tennessee so he could maybe land a HC job somewhere else and the leak happened which led to them saying he signed a contract

Guys, just stop. I've been on the Gruden train this whole time, but there's no way Peyton, Currie, haslam, fulmer, and Davenport are committing career suicide and ruining another coaches reputation as well as theirs justbto hold off on announcing gruden. Think about this for a minute...

I don't know what the story is but Schiano ruined his own reputation

If there was any truth to the Grumors, if Gruden would just come out and say "I'm interested in the Vol job" that would put intense pressure on admin.

Agreed.

If anyone connected to it would say that, it would create pressure.

Which is exactly why I do not believe there is true interest.

I have a question that I hope someone may have insight into. Maybe I'm "misremembering", but early in this process, weren't reports that part of what made Gruden possible, was that PM was onboard for some marketing/fundraising to persuade or sweeten the pot for some entity so that it could happen?

If this is the case, then why all the reports now that PM was onboard with the Schiano hire?

What happened that made this deal go so far south as far as Peyton is concerned?

Peyton is aligned with Haslam.

It ain't over till we say it's over.

VN finally seeing they have a voice. Some still don’t realize it, others may be actively trying to silence it.

Keep up the work FAM. That’s right, we are all showing we can have our differences but we are a united FAMILY that the sports world didn’t think could happen.

We have been laughed at for so long, are being told by people on tv we need to stop and that we are an embarrassment. But when it’s all said and done and the history books are written, it’ll show a United front that stood up instead of crying on the sidelines!

I love you VFL! Soon!!

P.S. I’m amazed at everyone “resolve” and ability to not jump ship, to stay the course. This is our fight ladies and gents! This will be the story to tell your grand kids when UT is the big dog in college football again. You will be the reason things happened. Don’t forget that!

He's always been Haslam's guy. At one time he was up for the Brown's job.

You know there is a bet club on the dark web, where they place bets on how many times a troll can get his/her whiny post quoted. Or so I've heard.

Remember when Currie delivered the presser about Butchs firing? Did Currie not say he had to have a coach by a certain date or we would have a new AD? I may be wrong here but anyone remember what date that was?
