I hope you are right but D*** he has had weeks to decide if not longer. If what we heard was true he had the figures a long time ago. If it takes that long to decide I am not sure he really wants the job to start with.

Gotcha. I didn’t want to accuse him of anything. PV was very articulate and kind with his posts. To go from that to all gifs just seemed odd. Maybe a butt chewing is in order. Lol.

Multiple paths for sure. Coordinators to HCs in the NFL are far more successful than college to pro HCs.

I’m betting that in colleges we can find as many examples of Coordinators at big time programs moving up successfully as we see Head Coaches that move up from smaller programs.

I mean look at that championship series. 3 our of 4 head coaches were coordinators.

Enough of this. All 4 of those coaches were coordinators at some point. I’m like others am tired of giving people on the job training.

Well, everyone is so shocked we are going after a coordinator, this is the reason. So the argument of us being a top tier destination school is moot given the current climate. Those individuals need to manage their expectations a little more than they are.

Surprised Emmert would comment on a situation such as this at a specific school. Vols are an easy target right now and national media won't call him out on it but this is not the sort of thing the NCAA pres. should be commenting on.

We NEED a coach with head coaching experience. A big name right? Hmmm. I wanted Gruden as much as anybody here...but it's interesting that 3 of the 4 coaches in the BCS playoffs this year are all former assistants/coordinators currently on their 1st ever head coaching gigs.

for all those who are pushing the "look at the 3 of 4 coaches in playoffs" stuff

how many recent coordinators who are now head coaches HAVE FAILED???

maybe those "3 of 4" are the EXCEPTION and not the standard, just looking at it from a different angle.

All were over .500 in their conference.

I think Gruden is still in play. If he said no to something in the deal, we might be trying to work that out. I’m encouraged by the calm down gif. I’m putting some faith in UTPaulVol. That being said, it won’t be hard to figure out who he is if in fact he is trolling us. I choose to believe he is not.
