Can someone give me a solid reason to believe Gruden is coming?
All the media is elsewhere.
No Gruden mention period.

Let me get this straight:

1. Tee Martin is going to leave USC, which just won the Pac-10 — A LATERAL MOVE — to Tennessee. To coach under a less in-demand coordinator AT HIS OWN SCHOOL. A man who he would conceivably be stuck behind, unable to become HC if Tucker is successful.

2. Mel Tucker, a man who has not been mentioned in ANY OTHER job discussions, will take the reigns as our HC.

3. We will finally hire a black head coach, but it won’t be TEE MARTIN.

4. We are going to bring in a defensive coordinator without a track record as a successful head coach — to be our head coach, WHEN OUR PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN ON THE OFFENSIVE SIDE OF THE BALL.

Sure, that all checks out!

I can buy that we are hiring Mel Tucker or Steele given our horrid track record, but if the rumors about Tee are true, why would he come here under either of those two? That makes zero sense. Tee, IMO, only comes for a big big name. Steele and tucker would be incredibly underwhelming to say the least

I think someone made a good point in a different Gruden thread, Tucker is someone Fulmer can control, and he'll dictate who he hires, I wouldn't be surprised to see John Chavis end up as our DC or any othe coach that was under Fulmer end up back here

I have been a long time catching up...with that said I keep going back to the day Coach Fulmer, he may be AD now but he will always be coach to me, was named the new AD. He would hire a coach that loves Tennessee that has high integrity the best coach that get us to a championship level...now which coaches mentioned meet that criteria...Tee doesn’t yet but with a little grooming he may reach that milestone...sorry had to rant but been off a while n had to voice my opinion....
