Official Jon Gruden Thread XLIV

MIT BEAV what are the chances Gruden deal could still land? Also why don't the boosters take the knowledge they have of a sabotage to the public? Would create an even bigger revolt?

If that's the case, then how could Peyton endorse the Schiano hire as reported by Jimmy Hyams?

Peyton Manning is the one name that could make the masses unite quicker than anything.

I don’t know Peyton and seems like a funny dude but the majority of fans idolize him way to much.

What better way to reverse everyone’s opinion of a deal when the one name that unites is mentioned. Peyton saves face and HOH wins.

I find this interesting. NONE of the big names are saying anything. manning isn't. Gruden isn't. Fulmer isn't. The only people talking are the ones who get paid to do so.
And us hicks.

my thoughts and point on many previous posts...it doesn't smell right to me...like something under your bed for three months smell...

And? Still wouldn't explain how Currie was wrapping or had wrapped up Schiano while Peyton was talking to a completely different coach not on anyone's radar at the moment.

Haslam has a much wider net out there than anybody realizes it would seem. Way more connections and way more resources.

Let me rephrase my question and add a statement.

What SPECIFICALLY can other boosters do to remove Haslam and Currie besides meet, talk, make calls, piss and moan, like us peons?

Haslams are rooted deeper than an old splinter. If they have all the power, they have already demonstrated that they do not care about the opinion of the public or the Fanbase. What makes anyone think that hashtags emails phone calls etc. are going to affect any change with people who have that much power?

The only thing that will remove Currie or Haslam would be something along the lines of legal ramifications that would involve an investigation by the FBI the TBI or someone in law-enforcement.

Out side of that, its pissing in the wind.

I dont think Grude is done but we are because the fight against them is at snails pace.

All this looks just like government emoyees and how no one will remove worthless POS from power.

I know, right?

Exile, that was funny man. You gotta admit. 😉👊 I understand and appreciate what you’re bringing. Don’t take people here too serious. I posted about Chad Morris and I’m getting roasted in that thread. Lol.

I still believe Schiano was a panic hire after Mullen picked UF. I don't doubt he'd been spoken to weeks ago. I'm sure a lot of people had been spoken to over the last month.

I really want to know why I’m hearing we haven’t reached out to Tee Martin yet, when he reportedly has interest in the job? I mean other than the fact that we have complete dimwits driving the ship… Just makes me wonder if he will even get a look once Gundy turns us down tomorrow

Finebaum is beyond parody....he essentially became rich by pitting moronic Alabama and Auburn "fans' against each other...and now he's worried.

Suddenly, a fanbase isn't playing its traditional, approved role of lapdog.

The media elites' REAL issue is that the 'customer' here actually made noise and disturbed their pretty little world, where the peasants calmly accept every sh*t sandwich that is fed them, buy the tickets, wear the gear, and act like fools on College GameDay.

When they didn't hear, "Thank you Sir, may I have another?" this time, they panicked. Their fantasy-world is off its axis, and the uppity peasants MUST be put in their place.

Don't they know how this world works?!?!

Slimebaum became a Bammer hero when he stirred up the crap that Fulmer paid people to turn in Bama to the NCAA. He said he saw the proof and was going to present it on his show. Had some jake leg attorney from Montgomery that was feeding him the crap. The proof never showed up, but Bama inbreds ate it up and still hate Fulmer today.

Perspective; we haven’t signed the coach I wanted, but my 6-week old is in surgery right now, so in the grand scheme of things that doesn’t matter. Thoughts and prayers appreciated.

My hope: hire a Vol, and unite 100% as a fan base around them, win, lose, or draw.

Prayers for your baby and your family!

None of the events of the last few days make any sense.

From Schiano apparently being the one and only target, to PM going to bat for him, to the 'cyber terrorism' (thanks, Finebaum), to Currie STILL being allowed to jet around and interview candidates and now Tennessee is willing to double his salary.

Nothing makes any sense.

Hyams, Ward jr both say PM supported hiring Schiano. May not like it but it happened. PM has not refuted any of it, either.

Eric Ainge said yesterday he spoke personally with PM and Fulmer and they told him they knew nothing about the Schiano hire. (If I am misremembering this someone correct me)

We should schedule a social media swarm. Pick a time tonight and then start tweeting and replying to every Tennessee story with #FireCurrie and #FireBeforeHire.

If we organize and start slamming twitter all at once and will start trending and hopefully get the attention of enough people and people with larger following to grow a movement. If enough people are down with this we could start a thread. Pick a time and pick the hashtags we should use.

Okay, something I'm not getting. Dots aren't connecting.

Allegedly Peyton called Gundy last week and talked up the Vols. This is according to ESPN which I'm not sure I believe. I think somewhere just above supermarket tabloids is their domain at the moment. However, if true...

If Currie had his man Schiano, why would or how come Peyton is calling another coach to gauge interest when he was all but signed?

Separate paths?

Oklahoma State Cowboys coach Mike Gundy meets with Tennessee Volunteers about coaching position

What about the bits I heard about him calling other VFL's about Schiano? Seems ...... awkward.....
